I just spoke to Nancy at TLBC (The fill nurse there for those who don't know). She told me there is no issue with my getting a tiny defill from Dr. Bishop and that I'd be welcome to get him in touch with her for records and such. She said they tend to get plastic surgeons to do the fills outside of the clinic... unless I was too tired and misunderstood that... it sounded weird but whatever; I've just heard better things about Bishop over the other guy in Ottawa. She also explained to me that what I assumed was Water or saliva I've had rolling up and drowning me slowly each night is in fact acid. I guess I always assumed that because it had no taste or didn't burn or hurt it was just water hanging around. Live and learn. And how cool is it she called me on a Saturday! She was really great too, talked to me for a good 15 minutes about that and my lack of weight loss in about a month. I should have known better, last fill I went for she talked me back from frustration... I just had to be insistent! I'll post what I find out about Dr. Bishop and TLBC bandsters after I call Monday.

Trying To Conceive Ticker is where I went from clicking on someone's tracker on their post. It goes pretty step by step. Once done you copy the URL to your signature. Each time you want to update it you just click on your ticker and enter your PIN, updating your stats. :-)

I've heard of other people who have trouble with whatever their pre-op diet, they call the clinic and they can often give suggestions for alternatives. It might not be a much better alternative and I don't know for sure if they'll have suggestions but it's best to call when in doubt. Gas-X comes in thins strips, like those Listerine thin strips for breath. Ask the pharmacist. Once you have the surgery for the first bit you'll be on a liquid diet so the thin strips that dissolve on the tongue will be ideal if you have gas pain from the surgery itself. (not everyone gets that pain though so here's hoping for you)

I had a different diet for my pre-op but have done Slim Fast in the past and don't recall a lot of gas from it. Try Gas-X. But the thin strips, they'll be good to have on hand for post-op as some folks have a lot of gas pain after surgery as well. And when in doubt, call you clinic! They may suggest an alternative pre-op diet for you.

I realized, as Anne emailed the original meet-up list, that between us there are three different lists of folks who have actually met up at different times. So this should help. Those who might have been interested in that little get together group I'd been organizing for the Second Cup in Bells Corners. No you haven't missed it, so far it hasn't happened and I don't think it will happen before the New Year now as the closer we get to Christmas the busier everyone is. But I will put a note out if something comes up. Happy Holidays!

For those who were at the great get together last Saturday, you'll remember I had been organizing a small group of bandsters from canadianlapbanders on yahoo. There are a couple of folks who weren't able to make it that I'll be meeting with in the next week or two, if anyone wants to join us I'll be putting confirmed details here in the next few days. Usually it's early evening in Bells Corners at the Second Cup.

I had no issue with your mom at all! For me it was great to hear thoughts and experiences from another bypasser to compare to my mom's gastric bypass experiences and the issues she's dealt with compared to my own banding experience. Nan

Hi I only just found out about this group from a fellow Ottawa Bandster and plan to come by and say hi tomorrow at Swiss Chalet! Can hardly wait! :clap2:
