  1. I know what's recommended but how soon after surgery did you get pregnant? And did you have complications if it was too soon? Did you have infertility problems before surgery? Just curious. Babies on the brain. Thanks in advance

  4. Hi everyone! I just came across this thread. I have had PCOs probably since high school but I was diagnosed with it about 5 years ago when my husband and I started to TTC. About 4 months after discovering that I had PCOs they found that I had endometrial cancer. (Cancer on the lining caused by PCOs). Because I never had children they treated me with birth control, D&C's and biopsies. After 1.5 years of being cancer free my gynecologist let me try to get pregnant. I was extremely overweight, probably around 260lbs. The gynecologist put me on Clomid and I believe Provera to force a period and to force ovulation. Clomid did not work for me and after trying for about 6 months I was sent to a fertility specialist. The fertility DR ran tests, did ultrasounds, and then said I don't think they did the last D&C correctly. Lets do another one just to make sure they got everything and lets make sure they use a camera this time. So they did another D&C and they found cancer again. This time they changed my medication to Megace. It's a hormone pill (not birth control) but it prevents the lining from growing. And the fertility DR suggested that I have gastric bypass because my insurance would cover it and it would be my best odds of avoiding the cancer coming back and my best odds to have my fertility back. So it took me a year to decide to have gastric bypass and about 9 months of nutritionist appointments and other pre-op requirements and finally on April 16th, 2015 I had surgery. I've lost 101lbs since then and just recently I felt some sharp pains in my lower right abdomen below my belly button and above where my leg meets my pelvis. I've been cramping since then too. But my basal body temperature has not risen. I have been on birth control but I just did some research that it may not be effective after gastric bypass because of malabsorption. How much did you ladies weigh when you were able to get pregnant? I just hit one-derland myself I'm at 198. Thanks in advance!!

PCOS LADIES Getting pregnant post op

I've been on BC since a month after surgery so I don't know if I'm regular because of that. My surgeon said its recommended to wait 12 months post op to get pregnant but he said its safe to get pregnant 6-8 months post op because the majority of the weight loss has happened. However I'm not rushing either I want to make sure I'm healthy enough for a baby and I'm only 3.5 months post op and I'm still learning to eat again. It's just exciting that it can happen around this time. I've been through a lot and this is what the recommended me to get done in order to have better odds of getting pregnant. So I'm hopeful :-). I just wasn't sure if ladies with PCOS could get pregnant around 200. I was thinking it would be closer to 150 for the cycle to be normal again.
  6. This surgery isn't the easy way out. It's tough. Screw the nay Sayers. Get happy

    For Women...TMI...about Aunt Flo

Thank you so glad it's not just me !! Yes I have bad cramps too.
  14. Hi ladies I have a tmi question. My surgery was April 16th. I could start birth control a month after surgery. About 2 weeks in after taking BC I started AF. The first day it was red/brown and today is day 2 and it's dark brown. I read it could be from rapid weight loss. I've lost 57 lbs. Have any of you experienced this ? Just curious. Thanks
