My name is Nancy Patino, i am 52 yrs old. I have been married for almost 20 yrs. I have 2 grown daughters. And i also have 3 grandchildren. I 6yr old grandson and a 2yrs and 3 month old granddaughters. I have been overweight my whole life. The older i got the harder it got. I tried years ago to get the surgery done, but i lost my job and never tried again till recently my Dr. recommended the surgery.  I met with the surgeon in July 2014 and he said it can go as fast or slow as i want it. So i went for it. Did all my appts. as soon as they each had open. by Thanksgiving i had seen everybody i needed to see. Got my approval the day before Thanksgiving. I was so excited. I work for a school, so back in July i thought winter break would be perfect for the surgery cuz i would have 2 wks off for vacation. It worked out perfect. I was scheduled for Dec 22, 2014. I started the liquid diet on Dec 8. That was one of the hardest things i ever had to do. I am not a milk drinker, so every time i had to drink the bariatric shakes i would cry, but i did it and lost 33lbs in those 2 wks. There were no complications with the surgery. I was home by Christmas eve. I went back to work on Jan 5. with no limitation. Went for my follow-up and i am now down 50lbs total.
