Has anyone been to TLBC and had surgery by Dr Yau?

I am frustrated with myself too. I have sabotaged my whole diet, I eat like a machine, have had wine for new years, stayed on liquid diet for 3 weeks and then ate whatever I could get my hands on. I was licking potato chips at week 3 and spooning dip into my face. My first fill is Jan7th. I feel I've probably ruined the band. I pb'd a couple days ago after drinking too much wine on new years. What an idiot!

I go for my first fill jan7th. I have been eating solids since week 3. I notice that my appetite is not as huge as it use to be, although I have had a couple attempts at filling my face over the holidays. I am trying to sabotage my success. I pb'd once and that was awful. I had wine for new years and it made me sick. Not looking forward to my fill, feel this was all a big mistake. Does anyone else feel the same?

I had mine done the same date. Feeling nausea and can't bare to drink another protein drink. Yuck. I have very little hunger but I am finding that the location of my port is very irritating me...right on the pant waist line by my belly button. I also flew home and the band signaled for airport security to check me out. This is going to be real drag. Twigs

Thanks for your info. I now know of 2 doctors who will do fills in Calgary...I heard Dr. DesCouteaux is one of them. I heard he is a very good doctor. Sorry to hear of your complications. I hope you are better. That is my worst fear too. I am so ready for my surgery in the next few weeks and looking forward to a better, healthier life! All the best!

I will be going back to Toronto for my fills. I just thought if there was someone good in Calgary, that might be easier. I don't mind travelling to Toronto though. I'd rather go there and deal with whoever did my surgery in the first place. Plus the fills are included in the price. Were you banded in Calgary?

My surgery date is 06/12/07. I was told to go on a special diet one week prior to surgery. The diet includes mostly cottage cheese, milk, yogurt, small portion of chicken breast or sole, vegetables and only use balsamic vinegar as dressing. Today I'm going to look for protein shakes and other food items for post op. I think I'll be ok on this diet. I really needed a life changing solution before it's too late. Glad I'm getting it done, just nervously hoping for a successful recovery and to real my weight loss goal. Good luck to all of you!

I use to be super thin as a young adult, hence the nick name. I starting gaining weight slowly but surely over the years. All of a sudden I'm 50 lbs overweight! I'm 45, married for 15 years, love to travel and feel like everything in my life is great except for one thing...I'm self conscience of my weight. A reunion of any kind would throw me over the edge. I'm sure some would barely recognise me today. My husband is skeptical of the surgery but supportive in my goals. I have plenty of fears about this upcoming surgery, I need to stay in the calm zone. I haven't told anybody except for hubby and sister, mainly the shame of getting to this size keeps me quiet about talking to family and friends. I hope to reach my goal of losing 50 lbs. I want to be healthy that's all. Thanks for listening.

I'm with you. My surgery date is in Dec and I have only told my sister (besides hubby). I'm very private and feel ashamed that it has come to this and that I have no choice but to get this done. Good luck to you!

I am getting a lapband done in Dec at TLBC by Dr Yau in Dec. Are there any Calgarians out there who have done the same? Any advice? What did you think of your surgery to date? Who do you go to for fills in Calgary? What hospital or clinic are they at? Will appreciate any advice! :help:
