I'm at 228.5 this week!

I was told to start walking immediately. The doctor told me to start with five minutes a day and to build up to a half hour five days a week. That was the only exercise I was allowed to do for the first month. At my one month follow-up, she cleared me for all other exercises. Just listen to your body.

I know a lot of people say that they have no pain or soreness. For me, that was not the case. I had severe pain by my left incision for a few weeks. I am at 10 weeks out now and there is still a slight soreness/discomfort there. It will get better!

Cold all the time post op day 10
marbelvsg replied to JM1997's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Before my surgery I was always hot. I used to keep my thermostat at 67 in the day and 62 at night. Since my surgery I am always cold. I have raised the temperature to 72-74 in the day and 70 at night, and I still need to be bundled up in hoodies, under blankets, etc. It's normal! -

NEW! Starting the process and am a little confused.
marbelvsg replied to dandylion_23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello. I also have PCOS and am currently two months post-op. Each insurance company has their own rules and someone in the company should be able to tell you what they are. Each surgeon also has his/her own pre-surgery requirements. In my experience, the surgeon's office coordinated everything with my insurance company, submitted all of the required paperwork, etc. My first meeting with the surgeon was early November, 2014 and my surgery was on February 16, 2015. So my entire process took about three and a half months. I hope this information helps. Good luck! -
Learning how to eat slow
marbelvsg replied to agalindo17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the Eat Slower app. I set it for three minutes. It has really helped me. -
Also, I forgot to mention the brand HINT. My NUT recommended it to me. It is Water with a hint of natural flavoring. It goes down well for me, even though plain water does not. There is nothing artificial in it either. I buy it from Amazon, but I have also seen it a Whole Foods.

I used to drink Water all the time before my surgery and now I can't. Instead I drink a lot of Vitamin water zero and bai drinks. Sometimes I dilute them with water.

I primarily use MAC and Urban Decay. For skin care products I use Decleor. They are expensive but last a long time and are definitely worth it.

Hello. I am 8 weeks post op. Today I aciidentally ate and drank at the same time. This was the first time I had done this. I only drank a little bit, maybe a few ounces. Do you think I stretched my pouch? I know that I'm probably overreacting, but I'm really concerned. Thank you for your help!

Hello. My current weight is 239.
-
I started at size 26 or 28 in pants and 2X (which were getting tight) in tops. I am currently a size 20 or 22 in pants and between an XL and 1X ( 1X is too big, but XL is still a bit snug) in tops. My surgery was onFebruary 16th, so I am almost at two months.

Protein Ideas for Soft Food Stage and Beyond-No Meat Eater on Any Kind
marbelvsg replied to TREVORSMOM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That was the hardest phase for me. I didn't eat any meat. I lived on yogurt, ricotta and cottage cheese- all low fat of course! -
Hello. I'm in too! This is my first challenge. My goal weight will be 232. Thank you for doing this!

3 week stall
marbelvsg replied to 2NewBeginningsxoxo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This isn't much advice but perhaps it can be of some comfort. I also stalled at three weeks and did not lose anything during weeks three or four. Then the weight loss picked up again and I have been losing consistently. (I am in week 8 now). So, just hang in there and try not to feel down or upset. You will start losing again soon! Good luck! -
I'm just curious - at 7 weeks post-op, what was everyone's weight loss and what kind of exercise were you doing?

My husband is not attracted to me - 2 weeks post-op
marbelvsg posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello, I am about two weeks post-op and my husband says that he is not attracted to me at all after seeing my incisions, my drain, etc. He says he doesn't know if his attraction will come back and if it does, how long it will take. Did anyone else have similar experiences. What do I do? -
Hospital or Surgical Center
marbelvsg replied to IcanMakeit's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I would definitely choose the hospital. While you may not sleep as well, help will be there in seconds if you need it. -
I was on clear liquids for my first two weeks.
