  1. Did you have it done through healthier weight?
  2. Hi there - a fellow Brit! I also had my band fitted using the SILS method over a year ago and the scar is completely unnoticable. It's a tiny line to the left but is now completely same colour as my skin. It was quite red when I first had it done though. You'd have to get eye level with my belly button and shine a torch in to notice it now.
  3. Hi, Hapy New Year!! what is stacking? Does it mean eating too much for the band - i googled and nothing came up. Hopeyou're feeling better now.
  4. Wow - that's impressive!!! well done you. It's so important to have positive stories. Keep going!!! x

    Flying 4 weeks after surgery

I flew about 11 days after surgery and it was fine. I didn't eat it was only five hours. It's to do with the cabin pressure potentially making the band a bit tighter apparently.
  6. Thanks for the replies. Yes I am still on liquids after fill so don't know if it's worked yet. I had my volume checked too and I found it really painful!! There was no leak though and it had the right amount of Fluid - I'm starting to think it's just not going to work for me. :/ @Hope41- sounds like your eating is mostly going well. I ca eat anything I like at times too. *sigh*
  7. Hi, I'm going to bring this back to the original topic of fills ladies. I'm sure there's a separate thread about Canadian insurance somewhere. I had a fill yesterday, I'm now at 9.5 in a 10cc band. Once I have finished the liquid phase I'm hoping to be in the green zone - is anyone elses band this full? It's a little worrying!!!
  8. Thanks for taking the time to reply professor. I think I might be at green too then. I think I'm waiting for a hard stop every time whereas I don't think that is the idea really. I do get the hiccups and then stop eating so I think that might be it. good luck with the rest of your weight loss x
  9. That's interesting professor. Could I ask you to describe what the green zone feels like for you? Are you getting a hard stop or just little signs? I'm still confused about whether I'm there or not.

    I Walk Alone!

I was banded in January and it's not been all plain sailing but I am 50lb down. My 3 rescue dogs are responsible for half of this - I'm sure of it. I say get the rescue dog now, chances are they won't have been exercised much stuck in a dog pound and you can get fit together. That's exactly what happened to me. Now we walk two miles every evening and the best bit is my ankles don't swell any more.
  11. It's so interesting how different amounts impact different people. I'm at 7.2 in a 10cc band. Another fill friday which should make me green. Good luck everyone. I'm trying not to get frustrated but am still telling myself it's just bandster hell.

Ugh I was doing so good.. :-(

You are in what's known as 'bandster hell'. If you search this forum or google the term "bandster Hell" you will find lots of links to info about this - you are not alone!
  13. What does your doctor tell you to do after each fill? Do you have to stay on liquids and puree for a week? I've heard conflicting things.
  14. Hi, I am aware that the lapband fills are more of an art than a science and that everybody is different but just out of curiosity how many cc's and how many fills did you have before you hit the green zone? I'd go first but I'm not there yet but slowly slowly etc.
  15. oh by "stuck" I mean my weight would have stuck, not food would have stuck!!
