I think if anyone says to me, "Oh, you took the easy way out" I am going to punch them. I had bypass surgery on November 10, 2014. I started at 260 pounds, but am now at 213. I would say that is pretty good for less than 2 months. My main problem was being able to drink the protein shakes. I have tried them all and can't drink them without gagging. I still am somewhat weak, but feel so much better than before. I had sleep apnea, high blood pressure, had 2 knee surgeries, severe back pain, arthritis, but when they told me I was diabetic, that was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. The doctor said I was looking at 20 years off of my life if I didn't do something. I am 59 now, so that didn't leave much life for me. I now only take 2 blood pressure pills a day, before I was taking approximately 12 a day. I no longer have sleep apnea, severe pain, diabetes or any of the other problems. This surgery was a life saver for me and I get stronger everyday and have NO REGRETS!
