What to do when your goal is not your goal?
atontor replied to Bob B's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
GREAT JOB. My dr told me I would loose about 80 in a year. I was sleeved on 5/29/15 at 305lbs. I'm down to 235 as of yesterday when I saw my surgeon. She couldn't believe it. My goal weight is now is 210. -

I cooked chicken and red kidney beans and blended them together with some chicken broth. I ate that for two weeks. I'm down 68lbs in 7 weeks. I was sleeved on May 29. Once I was cleared to eat regular food I made a lot of homemade chili with ground chicken, 3 different beans , peppers, onions, corn.

Down 68lbs in 7 weeks. I still cannot believe the scale. Been enjoying the Puree period and the regular high protein foods. -
Make sure you drink water and Gatorade G2 along with protein shakes and unjury soups or regular chicken broths. Once you get to Puree foods it should get better. I know people that struggle with Puree foods but if you cook chicken to your liking along with veggies you'll enjoy the flavors in the Puree. I'm adding a before / after pic hopefully it will inspire
-
You need to follow that protein diet. It's so important to your long term health.

I had one week after surgery of soup broth and Gatorade 2 before touching Puree foods the following week. Mash potatoes are heavy. Be careful. -

Dr Melissa Bagloo. I had it done at NY Presbyterian hospital but unfortunately she's no longer there. She's in NJ now. She's great. I highly recommend her.

When your BFF doesn't support you...

So true. Do what's best for you. -
I haven't started working out, have been walking a lot during my recovery and following my guidelines provided by my Dr on foods and things to avoid.
-
My Dr was Melissa Bagloo at NY Presbyterian hospital. She was amazing. My scars healed completely. Had no discomfort or major issues. She followed up with me after surgery. Unfortunately she's no longer working there but in NJ now.

Jealousy is a factor. But you will need to do what's best for you and your life. After surgery you will find friends and family who will try to ruin and bring you down. All relationships will change.
