A little inspiration needed at a difficult time?
Granddaddy replied to moveandgroove's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Stop and smell the roses look at what you have accomplished already. You just went thru a major surgery so comfort is what your looking for at this time normal. But to lose ground on what you have started doesn't make sense so stop there are some things you can do not running. Help to encourage others who are starting this journey, prayer, and help yourself by giving to those who are going thru the pitfalls in the beginning. Keep posting and looking for answers it helps others too. -

Kind of hard to say don't think about it because it is all you will do BUT remember this is a short term thing your going to do to help you with the rest of your life. Take your time drink some broth and just feel the taste of what your drinking. We all feel the way you are in the beginning so it's normal and will get easier as the days go on -

Just did my 3 month follow up with Dr Zavalza via Skype and all is going fantastic. Next up will be my 6 month check in unless I have any problems which I don't see happening. Dr Zavalza will be there if needed and I still have to get my blood work done and sent to him. -

The Dr. told me nothing over 20 lbs. for 2 weeks I drive a truck for a living so I took 2 weeks of and have not missed a beat so I would see what the Dr. requires. -
7 weeks out. How much to eat?
Granddaddy replied to ls27's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Doesn't have to be water get Gatorade2 and try to supplement with that I sip on it plus another person said they got a water jug and started at the beginning of the day and every hour or so drank a glass that gave her the guide to go by. Kinda have to use what works for you... -

Thanks for the information joatsaint I hope it will help me if needed in the future. Still riding pretty high at getting to my goal but don't want to lose sight and back slide into old habits.....
-
That's pretty good but I don't find myself missing to much yet because I don't feel like I am on a diet. Looked at this as a lifestyle change and did so much research before hand that it became easy once I made my decision. Now I just want to help others who are struggling and I get lost in that at times..
-
If you considering surgery you need to be ready for a change because it is big. You will be about 2-3 months before your eating solid foods again and they will be limited. Example last night went to in laws house I had 2oz chicken breast about 1oz potato salad and half a deviled egg as my meal and felt like it was to much for about 20min. Is insurance paying for this or are you looking for a doctor? Most places in the states require you to go thru an orientation before and a mental evaluation. Just keep getting all the information you can

First of all relax it will take a while to get use to what your doing drink your Water or gatorade2 in short spurts about a cup at a time. Then remember your not supposed to eat with your meals make them small about 3oz at a time. I even try a spoon of Peanut Butter every now and again. This was a life time decision and one you didn't make lightly none of us did remember your not alone we can help. Look for other Dr. Zavalza patients we are supporting each other and they will help you also. If you need more information just ask and I will try to get some of the ladies in the group to help also..
