Total indulgence before starting pre-op?
allyray replied to sassygirl1068's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's what I did too. Kind of went a bit nuts with the eating 2-3 weeks before preop. Now 7 days in of my 14 day liquid preop diet, I am glad I did it! I admit it!! Inknow I'll never be doing it again. Just made the first few days really tough. On a positive note, I have dropped from 282 on Monday to 267 as of Saturday am. Lots of Fluid lost! Surgery on June 8th -

Two week full liquids starts today-JUNE 8 Sleevedate
allyray replied to Kfohiotime4change's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is June 8th as well. Started my preop diet (4 protein shakes a day only for 14 days) and I'm so hungry. I just need to keep busy and I'll make out ok. Getting my sleeve done in Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada!! -
Today is the last day before I start my 2 week preop diet and I can't stop obsessing about what I'm going to eat today. I have been so diligent with my diet these last few months (even losing some weight unintentionally) but can't seem to fight off that feeling that I need to eat all these things today because I won't be eating them for a long time, etc... Anyone go through this before you started your liquid diet?

allyray replied to Engteacher's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too have a couple of freezers full of meat (beef, chicken, and pork) and plan on making my broth. My surgery is June 8th -
Stsrt my 2 week pre op diet tomorrow so tonight I made homemade pizza for my family and I had a piece!!!
-
Jennyhurt, when is your surgery? Mine is June 8th
-
Funny thing is, as the day has gone by, it doesn't seem that important to me now. Making homemade pizza and not even feeling very hungry. I have too been carefully watching what I'm eating. Thanks for replying. You all are so helpful on here!!!

Started my Preop Diet...
allyray replied to MarceMonster's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I start my preop diet on Monday... R preop shakes per day for 14 days. That's it. Feeling some doubt right now but constantly reading these forums so I can keep my eyes on the end game. -
Hey any tips on how I may feel a week after sleeve? My son is graduating from high school the week after my surgery and I really don't want to miss anything. Do you think I'll feel ok by then to dance with my handsome son?

Netflix what are you watching? Which series do you love!?
allyray replied to woo woo's topic in The Lounge
Oh it's so good... It's about this family down in the Florida keys.. They own a vacation inn, and there is this one brother that comes back to work in the business, ... I can't really say much without giving it away. Kyle Chandler from Friday Night Lights is in it as one of the brothers. -

I'm going through those fears right now as well. My surgery is in 3 weeks and have been asking my husband as well if I'm making the right decision. His answer is yes, all my health care professionals keeps assuring me this will help my recently diagnosed type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure so I'm going for it and just keeping myself busy from now on so I don't overthink things. I, as you will be as well, am so informed as I have asked question after question for the past 6 months. Good luck with your decision!!!!!.

allyray replied to allyray's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Postponing my surgery isn't really an option. I've been waiting 6 years for this so don't want to risk losing my spot. (I'm in Canada and medicare covers bariatric surgery) Hoping and praying I behave and let things heal that first week.. I just can't miss this...too important!!! -

Afraid of the new me and losing who I am now...
allyray posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hey...as my date approaches, (June 8th), I am starting to think about how people will perceive me when I lose my weight...you know what I mean? I mean, I think I like how people treat me now...and that I'm in the shadows a bit... I've been reading obsessively from these boards, and it really scares me that I may be different after. This really does sound crazy as I'm typing it, but I don't want to be looked at differently. Does anyone else feel this way or am I the only odd ball? lol -

Feeling like I am taking the easy way out :-/
allyray replied to Butterfly512's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well this has certainly been an interesting read Just my 2 cents worth.... When I had my fairly large babies, I had the option of having and epidural or not during delivery. Heck that made my deliveries so much easier and pleasant. When I asked my mother who was an undiagnosed type 2 diabetic, if she would have gotten epidurals during her deliveries ( she had 9 children and they got larger with each baby, one being 13 lbs, 9 oz delivered "naturally"), she said "of course!" Why go through that without help if it's there? Same with wls. Why not? -
I live in New Brunswick, Canada and I'm getting sleeved on June 8th. Would love to chat with others who are having surgery around the same time

@Carlicat I wish I could save your post. Thanks for being so real about your experience. Getting sleeved in 3 months so good to have some info from a long time sleever!!!
-
My surgery is June 8th and I have soo much to do before then (son graduating, farm stuff, bookwork, etc...that I haven't had time to really sit down and "think" about it, which is likely a good thing because I'm a worrier!!

Keep this post going:) Things I am looking forward to (not food related)
allyray replied to Jessica Radcliff's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Looking forward to buying clothes that I actually like and fit well instead of what just fits me. Not sweating Actually wanting to get a family picture done with my boys and husband before they grow up. Crossing my legs. Enjoying sex like we used to before we had our sons! Lots more but could go on for pages!! -
I'm looking forward to this for this summer. I get sleeved on June 8th and I sweat like a pig in the summer. I hope this will be me!!!

Ok. This is a question for the ladies. My surgery is on June 8th. Unfortunately, my TOM will be starting on that day as well... Does anyone know how I prepare for that? Should I call the nurse before hand and ask? Just got thinking about that today as I've been feeling crappy because of it .... Anyone experienced anything along these lines?
