Looking for December 2014 sleeve support/friends...
kabertoson replied to CJSLEEVE's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello all. I was sleeved on 12/30/2014. I too am falling back into old habits. I restarted my food journal. I find that I am eating around 2k a day. Still working on getting the protein up though. Does 2k calories seem normal to any of you? I travel quite a bit for work and I have been unable to make my support group meetings. If anyone has suggestions please let me know. Thanks you! -
I am 12 months post op and have not lost anything for two months. I do drink lots of water. I can drink 24 ounces at a time with no problem. Is this an issue? Am I stretching my sleeve out? Thanks.

Thank you all for your advice. By short order I mean , 10 minutes. As for my exercise, I need to get better. The same goes the same for the food log. I am going to start tracking again to see what I am doing. -
New issue? Feeling dumb seven months after surgery
kabertoson posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello everyone. I am seven months post op sleeve. Everything has been going great, I am down 80+ pounds and overall feeling great. Of course I've had my share of stalls and passed through them. My current issue is I cannot seem to shake this feeling of being dumb. I find myself unable to remember things at work that I should know. I e mailed my NUT asking if there may be something missing in my diet. However, with the holiday weekend I won't hear back until next week. I feel like I am going crazy. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks. -
Ok. I was sleeved on 12/30/2014. I was down 46 pounds from me pre op weight, however this week I gained 2 pounds. Is this normal for a stall? It is so disappointing. Thanks.

Mike4132, yes I did! Thank you. Two weeks later I dropped 5 lbs. I still have a ways to go. Getting enough protein is still an issue for me though

The first catheter I was out for, however, because I could not go cathed me again. I was wide awake and scared. Yes it was uncomfortable at first, and hurt a bit, but overall not that bad. It will be over before you know it.

I am seven weeks out of surgery. I find that I can tolerate most foods, however, I am at a loss for snacks. Aside from protein bars does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

I felt terrible for the first 18 hours after surgery. Now at one month out I feel amazing! Good luck on your journey! -
Question about the restriction feeling
kabertoson replied to laurashelby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a month out of surgery and I had the same issue. I never really felt full, but I stopped when I ate the right portion. I did get sick once, however, I think it was because I ate too fast. I also found that as long as I get my protein in I don't feel hungry. Maybe I am being overly cautious. I just don't like feeling sick. Good luck! I am ready to begin introducing some real food, just in the right portions. -
Yeah, 100 pounds down but 100 to go.

still hungry on the post op diet?
kabertoson replied to kabertoson's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@4 the better. It sounds like you are doing great! I weigh myself everyday, but that's just me. I am finding I am driving myself a little nuts doing it though. I will stretch it out some. As for discomfort, the first 18 hours after surgery we bad for me. Then it was like a switch flipped and I started feeling great. Make sure you are getting enough protien. I was not, And I was hungry all the time. Once I upped my protien intake I felt better. Good luck on your journey! -

I meet with the nutritionist and I found that I am not getting enough protien. I should be at 80-90 grams a day and I have been at 60. Still trying to get the protien in. Shakes are not enough. -

That's great that you feel so good. I say as long as you follow the program the weight will come off. I can see my body changing and my clothes are starting to drown me. Hang in there and good luck. -

Thank you all. I get the mental hunger issue. That makes sense. I can hardly wait until I can eat real food again.
