How much did you pay in Mexico?
CaliQueenBee replied to heatherfeather's topic in Insurance & Financing
As you know, I was banded by Ortiz after doing a lot of research on him & I was VERY happy with him. My incisions look like scratches now on my tummy and I'm only 8 days out!!! I paid $9500 and that included stay @ the hotel and all the med charges. Fortunately I live in So Cali about 1 hour north of MX so I didn't have to pay travel fees too. I definitely think he is worth the $! I just weighed myself and I've lost 15 lbs since last week!!! Whoo-hoo!!! -
Well I work ft & have a 3yr old so I don't have too much free time to be bored. When I get home from work though I'm spent! I eat a little broth and about 1 hour later I'm ready to hit the hay. I try to go for a little walk after I eat (that really does help, it seems to get all the excess air out of my tummy) but sometimes I'm just too tired. I think the lack of protien is making me tired too - hopefully in a couple days when I can add the protein shakes I'll feel better.

I was banded 8/25 and I cannot wait (but I will...) to eat solids again! It's tough, that's for sure!!! Is anyone feeling sleepy all the time? I get home from work and it's all I can do to stay awake to eat and hit the sack. I'm sleeping about 10 hours a night vs the 7-8 I was previous to surgery...maybe that's cuz oh yeh, I just had surgery? Anyone experiencing that?

Good luck Amy & Dee Dee! You're in my thoughts today. Let us know how it goes.

I just had my surgery 8/25 and it was easy as pie. Really, it was easier than getting my wisdom teeth pulled. I'm still a little sore at the port site, but that's it. You'll be fine sweetie. Good luck and just relax and you'll be amazed at how easy it is!

Good luck Dee Dee! Let us all know how it goes. You'll be up and around in no time. Have plenty of broth, gatorade and sugar free jell-o on hand.

Hey Margo & all...back from MX am now an official Bandster! Everything went smoothly and I will be goin' back to work tomorrow. I couldn't believe how easy everything was - I have nothing but positive things to say about the whole surgical procedure and the wonderful Dr Ortiz & staff. Whoo-Hoo, band is in and I'm feelin' great other than a little soreness around the port incision. And oh yeh, this liquid diet is rough...but if it helps me lose this weight then what's a couple weeks of broth, popsicles and jell-o? Thanks everyone for their support!!!

Well, there's an awful lot of us this month! Imagine us all 1 yr from now...Mine is the 25th with Dr Ortiz in TJ. Best of luck to all!!!

Ok, so I am very curious...how soon can one "drink?" I'm having a party 9 days after my surgery & I'd really like to be able to have a drink with everyone else, but I wasn't sure if that would be pushing it too soon? Thoughts???
