I'm 5 weeks postop I've lost up to 46lbs since surgery. Since this weekend I've gained like 5 lbs out of nowhere. Have not cheated and have almost had to force myself to eat because I'm not really hungry and exercised every day. Feeling frustrated. I know I should be grateful for what I've lost but irritated at the gain.

Any GERD sufferers who were still able to get their sleeve done?
Rodney Tate replied to kjkeller102's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have GERD and suffer more severe bouts from time to time. I had my sleeve 2 weeks ago today. My surgeon say that you can still have the surgery but that you need to have the GERD under control. I had to do a 1 month preop diet and had no issues with GERD but was under treatment for it. You also are on GERD medication for at least 3 months after surgery. I think the only time they may not do it is when its GERD that is not controlled. In my experience when I eat correctly GERD is not a concern. I'm 2 weeks preop and have lost 25 pounds with no issues from GERD. Good luck. -

How long was your hospital stay?
Rodney Tate replied to Mom0f3inOC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the sleeve on 2/16/15 I was at home in my recliner by 4pm the next afternoon. But everything went smooth with postop care. I had to be able to drink so much and hold it, have clearance from physical therapy, and of course from the MD. -
Hi guys. Had the sleeve on 2/16/15 just over a week ago. Everything is going good except I'm worrying that I'm able to drink way too much. I can drink 11 oz with ease, occasionally I may feel a little full but not bad at all. I was encouraged sip, sip, sip. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. Don't want to stretch the sleeve.

Tomorrow is the Day
Rodney Tate replied to Rodney Tate's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Surgery went well MD said it could not have went much better. Got home around 4 yesterday afternoon. Was really sleepy yesterday, but today I've been able to stay awake. Got all my protein in and even walked on the treadmill for awhile. Glad to hear you have done well also. -
Tomorrow is the big day. Of course I picked a surgery date that involves winter weather, which in the South is disastrous. But luckily it will not start until after I am in the hospital and thru with Surgery. Its been almost a year process to get here due to what my insurance required and some work issues that had to be handled before I felt ready and could concentrate me. My physicians office "plan" has over prepared me for almost everything. Its so comprehensive and I feel sorry for some bariatric patients that I come into contact with. I'l like "they didn't tell you about that". I work in health care and are notoriously bad patients, but the nerves have passed and I'm ready for the next chapter in my life, I plan on waking up from the surgery already on the path to the new me.
