  1. Hang in there . . . just keep doing what has to be done .. . I went 3 weeks without the scale changing by 1 pound . . . but I didn't let it worry me . . . because I could see the changes in my face and neck . . .and feet . . . all over . . . don't worry about anyone else's opinion . . . stay on course and you can't help but have results. It's not a magic thing that is instant . . . it is going to take time . . . but you can be proud of yourself that you're taking care of YOU!

Support group last night . . . well . . . besides being LONG .. . :rofl: . . . there were like 18 people there (she said the first group of the year is always bigger) . . . with both bypass and lapband . . . about 1/3 of us with lapband and 1/3 of us brand new (both types). It was a lot of "how did you feel when you ate" . . . "did you use your 5 senses as you ate" .. . how everyone did over the holidays . . . and stories of mothers pushing too much food at you . . . and how to deal with it . . . and then we each had to have a goal for the next month . . . mine was to be better with the Water and Protein on the weekends because I'm not sitting at a desk with a clock in front of me that tells me "tick tick, drink drink" . . . one lady was SUPER losing her hair from not doing her protein. Another RNY has to be infused with Iron because she wasn't taking it as needed and her body can't absorb it anymore. There is experience sitting there .. . and stories to be told and heard . . . and networking to be done. It is a good thing (I complain a lot I know) . . . but just a little to long for me . . . it ran past my bed time lol! :D Good luc with all your stuff today Steph!


  3. Hang in there Steph! When is your first fill? I'm soooo wanting mine . . . I have to go to my first mandatory support group tonight . . . and then my first mandatory exercise group on Saturday . . . so that's a couple things that will keep me from thinking of food. Now I just trying to decide if I'm brave enough to sign up for belly-dancing classes for the month of February :P The fills are coming . . . but NOT SOON ENOUGH!

So I had to go buy some new bras today . . . it was getting pretty sad trying to make the old ones make due . . . but . . . the surprise came 1) that I could get some in a store instead of special ordering them, and 2) that I went from a 54C to a 48DD . . . OMG where the hell did THAT come from! LOL . . . So Lane Bryant has "buy 2 and get 2 free", so I bought 2 I can wear now - and two in a smaller size . . . I'm planning ahead! lol

    And then . . .on the way out of the mall . . .I bought 2 rings with opals (my birthstone) and tanzanite (from the S. Africa mine - not Iraq/Iran) . . . and my pinky fingers are happy . . . until I lose more weight and start moving the rings to other fingers :)

    and YEA Chargers (for those of you who follow football!)

  5. Bigelow made a Decaf green tea! I was told no caffeine also for the same reasons . . .and no carbonation . . .and no nicotine . . . and quit them all on the same day! (I digress). Anyway, there are lots of decaf teas out there (I'm not a coffee drinker) - and I have a basket of them on my counter and just keep experimenting. My "constant" though is the decaf green.

Cerrin . . . it would be good to have someone to go with . . . but I did make it a bit more comfortable for myself . . .I joined a Women's Fitness center . . . so i'm not QUITE as uncomfortable as I would be in a co-ed gym. My son cracked up when I told him where I joined . . . he said "don't you remember me writing a paper about how that place being sexist when I was in high school" . . . lol . . . guess I don't . . . but I like it there.


  7. I joined a gym . . . but because of my hip, knee and back problems, they won't let me on the machinery until I get a note from my PCP. So I dropped that off to her yesterday. Meanwhile, I went to the pool to just be moving around . . . but my suit is like 2 years old . . . and have you ever seen what a suit with chlorine "rot" does . . . omg . . .it was getting bigger and bigger . . . I had to get out of there . . . I'm now waiting for my new suit to come in the mail . . . lol . . . how's THAT for an excuse?

  8. I've been on real food for a little over a week . . . but I'm really cautious as to what I'm trying. We were told no red meat for a year . . .it's tough to digest . . . so I'm a salmon fiend . . . I poach a piece in chicken broth and then break it into small contains for several meals. I haven't done anything fried or breaded . . . I'm a little leary to venture too far yet - not that I want fried or breaded lol. Good luck!
