Lara - it does slow down . . . I'm supposed to get my first fill tomorrow . . . and I've been at the same weight for 3 weeks it seems .. . it's just part of the process (which I wasn't expecting even though I thought I had read everything before surgery) . . . it just "is" . . . but if you keep doing what we have to do . . . something has to give at some point . . . just hang in there!
-
maybe these are the "descending" favorites that they had to go to in order to get someone to say "yes" they would do it  I'll vote for Y Man NOW!
-
I'm on it every morning - mostly because I can't believe it isn't moving! lol . . . but I want to know if things move . . . in any direction. I sure don't want to start putting pounds back on!

you are not alone . . . my scale hasn't moved hardly at all in 3 weeks . . . I go in on Thursday for a second attempt at getting my first fill - I was supposed to get one on the 2nd . . . and he said to wait. I'm starving .. . eating more than I should even though its the right things . . . exercising and getting generally "unenthused" if that is a word . . . hang in there . . . something has to give at some point . . . all those that went before us are losing weight!

My doctor wants me to take 8 bites . . . and wait to see if I'm full. My directions are Protein first, then veggies/fruit, and then carbs if there is room. I also have a protein drink mid morning and mid afternoon. Let me tell you right now - 8 bites do NOT do it . . . I can eat my breakfast at 5 or 5:30 . . . and people on the trolley can hear my stomach growling on my way to work at 6:45. I'm getting all my liquids in . . . not a problem at work, but more of a battle on the weekends because I'm not looking at a clock constantly . . . I have met several of my doctor's patients at exercise and support groups - and they have ALL said they have had minimal fills . . . if any . . . I'm supposed to go in again on Thursday for my first fill . . . he told me no on the 2nd when I was there . . . and I'm going to ARGUE if he doesn't want to fill me this time. I don't mind doing what I'm supposed to do when I have my tool working with me . . . but to have the tool but not have it functioning . . . it's like a torture and a sure way to get me disinterested really fast.

Another visualization I use is 5LB bags of sugar . . . and I sure couldn't carry 6 of them around . . . so you are going GREAT!

Wendy's Chili
1 pound ground chuck
1 15−ounce can of diced tomatoes (liquid included)
1 15−ounce can of red kidney Beans (liquid drained)
1 15−ounce can of pinto beans (liquid drained)
1 8−ounce can Hunt's Tomato sauce
1/2 medium white onion, diced
1 4−ounce can diced green chilies (with liquid)
2 Tablespoons chopped celery
2 Tablespoons chili powder
1/2 Tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup Water
-
Brown the ground chuck over medium heat, breaking into small pieces with the spatula. Add a dash of salt and pepper while cooking.
-
Empty the cooked meat into a spaghetti strainer, and rinse well under very hot Water. This removes the bulk of the fat.
-
Transfer the beef into a dutch oven, and add the remaining ingredients. Stir together to combine thoroughly.
-
Over medium heat, bring to a simmer. Reduce the burner to low, and continue simmering 50−60 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Looking GREAT everyone! I love the pictures . . . they say it all! I'll ad mine tonight from home (but I have them on another thread here somewhere already).

If all they're asking for is $250 . . . that's what I'd pay and sit back and wait. I have BCBS and I only had to pay $175 for the psych portion out of pocket . . . and haven't seen any bills at all (knock on wood). I was supposed to be totally covered . . I'm HOPING that is the case!

Thanks Steph . . .I'll be looking for it . . . because I'm starting to eat to much and I know it . . . ughhh . . . I get my fill on Thursday.

Hello So. Cali People,I am new to this site (1 mo) and have not had surgery. I am scheduled for February and nervous. Is there a support group for Cali people that meet together? I found groups in other states and was wondering if a group had formed here.
What part of the state are you looking for a support group in? It's kind of a big state

Diane . . . I REFUSE to even thing about failure for my band! I got my mind set that it is going to work . . . not overnight . . . but gradually and steadily (I hope). I went 3 weeks with no scale movement . . .and now it is finally starting to move again. I was supposed to get a fill on the 2nd, but he postponed it until the 17th . . . and I am sooooo wanting it now . . . If you follow the rules and do your part, along with the help of the band . . . I don't see how anyone can fail! (I have a half full glass of Water today lol). Don't flame me anyone . . . this is a pep talk

Hi patch . . . for the ticker . . . click on the Tickerfactory.com link above any existing ticker and it will take you there . . . then after you build your ticker, copy the "picture" (not the thread) and come back here, go to UserCP at the top of the page and then go to Edit signature . . . (I think I got that right). Good luck.

Oh YEA for no slippage! That's great . . . and since I've never had a fill yet . . . welcome back!

Oh Yea for you Steph! Way to go! and I want more NUT info too . . . some of us don't get that quality of what to do, how to do it . . . and we have to live vicariously through others . ALSO . . . you already had some fill from the surgery? cool for YOU . . . I don't have anything yet and I'm chomping at the bit now.
Anyway - great job . . . keep up the good work . . .and keep the info flowing

I think I'm weird because I'm sitting here trying to plan a goal . . . and I just don't know . . . I'm feeling better in my hip and my knee because of what I have lost . . . I just (finally) got cleared by my PCP so I can use the equipment at the gym I joined . . . and I just want to keep doing what I'm supposed to and be able to see progress in my monthly pictures. It took me 30 years to put all this weight on . . . I'm HOPING to get most of it off by my 1 year banniversary.
