Merry Losers -- check in and let us know how your day is
christasha replied to Twilight's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Saturday morning .. . hi all! Done a couple 12 hours days at work . . . not fun . . . so came home and collapsed into bed last night . . . only to be awakened by my grandson who is into temper tantrums in the middle of the night. Lord Love a Duck . . . I've heard high pitched screams before . . . but this kid can sustain them . . . and we're supposed to let him go (per the doctor) . . . do you think 14 pillows on top my head will smother me? lol . . . ok . . .only 7. Hope everyone has a good weekend . . . I'm going to WalMart for some quiet time (how bad is that?) -
Merry Losers -- check in and let us know how your day is

I hit 40 lbs down today . . . and I'm tap dancing around the kitchen while I get my cottage cheege and applesauce. OK . . . that includes pre-op weight for me - but hell - I lost it and I'm counting it. The scale keeps inching down . . . whatever speed it wants to go at . . .but it eventually moves for me - YEA! -
So my house has weird floors - and finding a spot to put my scale in my bathroom takes trial and error. I had finally found the perfect INCONVENIENT spot to get consistent readings time after time - and someone went in there and moved it! UGH. Can't find that spot again to save my life. Now I can get on . . . with the left foot first . . . and a number will flash up - and in 10 seconds will shift higher by a pound. Then I'll try getting on with the right foot first . . . and it will read another pound higher . . . so in the course of trying 5 times, I can get 5 different readings all within 2.5 lbs. It's a new scale so you would THINK it would work . . . lol .. . whatever . . . I've decided if I get the lowest number for 30 seconds straight, I can use that number :cursing: It's all my amusement for the mornings. However, I didn't go to the lower number this morning . . . but I was tempted because I DID SEE IT!

Cerrin you are way more organized than I am .. .I have one forum I'm supposed to check in weight loss every Wednesday . . . and at my old age, I can't remember where I was the week before . . . but that still doesn't give me the desire to write it down lol :rolleyes2: Oh that low weight I saw a sneak peak of the other day . . . it's now a standard for the last two days. Yea.

tggr - hang in there! I know exactly what you are going through - it drove me nuts. I just kept on track - and the trend has always been downward on the scale, even if it seems super slow. My doctors office keeps repeating "1-2 lbs a week" . .. even though I'm thinking it should be 5-10 lol. It can't help but work if you stick with it! I had a HORRIBLE night last night . . . I have not clue what I ate that gave me gas, but this was worse than anything that I had after surgery. I swelled up like a balloon and the pressure and pain . . . it started about 8 pm . . and I think I finally got to sleep sometime after midnight. Ugh . . . don't want another episode like that thank you! Have a good week everyone! -
approval to surgery time
christasha replied to purplemoon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to my seminar in Sept, had all my consultations and testing done October 3 - and found out that day I had to be smoke free for two months before he would operate - got approved about the 21st of October, and had surgery Dec. 3. If it hadn't been for the smoking, I'd have been done in November. -
Well I rent my house . . . so I can't really do the new bathroom . . . and I have trouble rationalizing $40 for a scale let alone $500 . . . and since I plan on continuing to lose . . . I'm going to go for the plywood idea I think . . . :wink2:
-
lol .. .remodeling is a great idea . . . it beats taking the scale out back on the concrete . . . I might scare someone unintentionally if they should be outside and I come waltzing out bare ass naked . . . lol . . .

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
christasha replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Aura . . . I sprinkle Benefiber on my cottage cheese once a day . . . it helps move things along. I don't take it multiple times a day though. -
I think you will be fine . . . because I was AMAZED to find that the needle holes from my fill are 2 inches BELOW my port insision . . . I don't know what I've been feeling . . .but obviously not the right thing lol. I think you're fine.

The B-12 sublingual are round pills that you melt under your tongue or in the side of your cheek for best absorption. I have to take one a week per my doctors instructions. I got them at GNC -just ask. They probably have them in all the pharmacies -

Hi all . . .I ended up working almost 11 hours yesterday . . . ughhhh . . . it's the time of year with last minute emergencies . . . so no Water aerobics for me last night. I'm baby sitting at the moment until my DIL gets home from her first interview . . . I don't know if I mentioned she is in remission on her cervical cancer. . . AND they made a mistake in her chart and put someone else's biopsey in it . . . so she found out she does NOT have uterine cancer (which they had just told her she did have) . . . that was one cause for a big celebration this week! I MIGHT get to cruise to Alaska with my Disneyland friend - she had booked the cruise, but her husband's Altzheimers is getting worse fast, so she isn't sure she can take him . . . so . . . I'll know in about a month what she decides to do .. . can you imagine trying to get clothes for a trip in May? I have NO CLUE what size I would be needing by then lol. When DIL gets back, I'm heading to the doctor . . .my left arm has been aching . . .but is not killing me . . . woke me up all during the night and I can't get it comfy . . . better get it checked! Have a good weekend everyone! Sorry I babbled on forever . . . -
I wish I could have done this 15 or 20 years ago . . . I'm finally starting to get some decent weight off . . .and my back and knee and hip are starting to be soooo much better. It got to the point that I was walking with a cane last May . . . and it is stuck in my trunk now where it stays. I would do this again even if I didn't lose any more weight that what I have right now . . . and I'm selectively dating . . . and closing in on 58 . . . so it's made my life so much better . . . I wouldn't trade it for the world!

unsupport from my boss...need advice.
christasha replied to JennaJ221's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'd go to HER boss and let them know what is going on . . . that is totally unacceptable. No one should have to work in a hostile environment. And you should tell her boss that too. -

I got 1.5cc in a 10cc band . . .he had more in, but I started burping and could feel a rock in my chest, so he backed off. I notice a difference in the morning when I'm eating . . . have to go slow. The rest of the day is the same as it was before. However, my weight had basically stalled before the fill last week . . . and now it is starting to slowly move again. Yea! Good luck!
-
I had my first small fill on Thursday and have had no issues . . .until yesterday morning when I went with my friends to breakfast . . . and I swear I got the simplist thing . . . and after 3 bites I thought I was going to lose it . . . I maintained, but omg that was NOT fun . . . and this morning eating my cottage cheese and apple sause was a slow process too . . . felt wierd. Guess I have morning restriction . . . and then it clears up later. Such fun new things to experience and learn.

How about a thread called "Newbie Information - Start Here" . . . with all the descriptions and such

Hi there . . .I didn't have a "test" . . .it was a "chat" . . . and cost me $175 that I wasn't expecting . . . and since my deductible with my insurance is $500 - it was the only thing I had to pay out of pocket. After all was said and done - she also runs the support group meetings - and we found out she is a former bypass client of my doctor too.

Zippit . . . a PB is a productive burp - and basically you throw up what you just ate. Its a very weird sensation before hand - and while I haven't done it, I sure came close the other day. I had cottage cheese and applesause for breakfast today . . .and again I had to stop after the first bite for a few minutes. Someone said something about first bit syndrome . . . I guess that is what I have going. I don't have time for tea in the morning before I eat - throws my entire schedule off lol. I could wait until I get to work to eat, but then I'm starving. I leave the house at 6:30 . . . but I'm going to have to work something out. The same day I had trouble with the morning omelette, I was able to eat Wendy's chili later in the day with no problem. Just have to work with this morning thing I guess. Have a good day everyone!

A Little Help for my Dec LBT friends
christasha replied to brickgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love the "little plastic food" reference to your NUT . . . really made me laugh! Hang in there! -
Sharpei and jljeje . . . go to the "members area" on the top right . . . there is an area there to "edit picture" and "edit signature". To get the ticker, go to Tickerfactory.com and set up whatever design you like . . . but ignore the directions to copy the html link. Copy the actual picture and paste it into your signature. Hope that helps. Chris

Thanks . . . I wasn't having trouble with eggs before the fill . . . but there was lots of melted cheese in the bites I took . . . maybe I need to SLOW DOWN and smaller bites It was just very interesting to say the least. I just ate my Starkist lunch kit with no problems . . . so I'm going to try the hot tea in the morning . . . I just like to eat before dealing with drinking issues. :wink2:

I'm thinking I will start looking like a sharpai (sp?) . . . but that is better than being FAT . . . I guess I would have to find out if my insurance covers PS or not . . .and then decide what to do with it when I get that far.
