Looking for info on Duodenal Switch Surgery In Mexico
Midwest Cowgirl posted a topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I'm looking into having a revision to the duodenal switch. With this surgery being a self pay I'm looking into going to Mexico. 4 years ago I had the gastric sleeve and did well the first 10 months. But only lost 65 lbs. I was working my program like a pro... I'm still working out and watching what I eat but have started regaining weight.(25 lbs. in the last 18 months) I would like to hear from others that have had revision or are going straight to the duodenal switch. Tell me about your experience in Mexico and your surgery... I know lost of questions but I figure that's what this forum is for... INFORMATION. Thank you! -

@shizwiz I loved your post! Very informative and well written. All the small details were helpful. I will be going to A Lighter Me in March, the 4th with surgery scheduled on the 5th. I'm have a revision done so I'm a little concerned about the recover and changes from my last surgery (Sleeve 2012) I have been following the facebook for A Lighter Me and I have been impressed with all the positive responses. It seems to be a well tuned program. I wish you much success! Salena -
Sleeve to bypass revision
Midwest Cowgirl replied to mickally's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
@mickally I'm also looking into revision from the sleeve. I had mind done in March 2012. My weight was 267 surgery date and lost 65 lbs. in the fist 8 months. But never lost anymore. I have been depressed thinking I failed. I work out 3 to 4 time a week and watch my diet. But somehow weight is creeping back. I've regained around 20 lbs. I'm looking into the DS or RNY as revision. But can't find anyone who has had revision to talk to me about it. Is it a dirty little secret? Where are you looking at having surgery? I'm looking at Mexico as an option because of the lower cost. I hope you are able to lots of info about your revision questions. Good luck! -

I have the sleeve currently... I first thought I would look into having it redone. But I'm learning there are more options. More choices make the decision harder I guess... -

I'm also looking at going to Mexico for sleeve revision. I'm finding it difficult to sift through all the information to make a final choice. On both procedure and doctor. What are you looking for to help make your decision? I'm feeling more apprehensive then the first time around. I had a text book surgery the first time and feeling like I might be pushing the odds a bit. I too have some side effects that have altered my life. The acid reflux is unreal and the disappointment of regain even with diet and exercise is heartbreaking. I'm also facing a lot of judgement for considering another surgery. Mostly from people that don't know me. I hope you find good info to help make your decision... Salena
