Hello all, I am Cindy Vosmera I had my surgery on Oct 17th and I just had a scope done to see if there was any narrowing or ulcers that were making me get sick often after I would eat. I do have an ulcer but have meds to treat it and she said today that it was on the mend. Thank God it wasn't anything more serious. Have a great day. It was a good day to have off here in Colorado, I live in Longmont and it was over 70 degrees today. Back to work tomorrow. Thank you all for your support.

Hello all, I went to the Dr. yesterday and I have dropped another 8 lbs., so now I am down to 191 lbs...I have started walking again today, it was a semi warm day (brisk) at least we are out of the negative numbers. (I live in Colorado) Anyway I am doing ok, I talked with my dr. about throwing up all the time and she is going to order me a endoscope to see if maybe I have narrowing down in my pouch or esophagus. I hope they find out something. Tonight I ate a taco ( I have eaten them before with no problem) and not even 5 min later I threw it up and I ate it slow.....dang it. I tried to have broth and my stomach just refused to have anything to do with anything. So I stopped trying for a while, I guess it is a protein drink for me. Those are getting old too by the way, yuck. Can't stand the Vanilla kinds anymore and the Chocolate are getting to be really sweet. I don't have dumping so that is not a problem. I don't keep most of my food long enough for it to dump. LOL....Otherwise I am just doing like one of the posts I read about my cottage cheese and broth based soups, string cheese and yogurt. That seems to do me well, I am going to buy some potatoes so I can bake them....that sounds good. Hey if that is all I can keep down so be it. I hate asking for pain meds b/c my Dr. kinda frowns at me. Never take on major surgery and have a past history of substance abuse. I may have been clean and sober for 6 years but they still are very stingy about pain meds and I wasn't even a pill popper kind of addict, it was something else that has nothing to do with pain meds. I get ticked off and tell them that is why I don't like to put my past history on my medical records because they judge you. Sorry hard day with my stomach, just venting. Thank you all for making me feel comfortable on here. xoxoxox

I totally get you I am 2 months out and still am on soft and moist food. I can't tolerate meat yet, I am eating things like cottage cheese, string cheese, egg whites and I have graduated to eating chicken salad out of a custard cup. I had to back up from trying to eat like 8 weeks out I was throwing up all the time. So now I am ok with only eating soup and stuff like that. It will get better they say. I have a Dr. appointment on Monday and boy do I have stuff to tell her. LOL....I hope you get to feeling better. Cindy

Hello All, My name is Cindy. I heard about this website through a group of women that I went to classes with pre surgery and we are all under Kaiser and we all are about 3 months out. I am currently 2 months out and not doing the best but surviving. I had weight loss surgery because I just got tired of not being able to breath (COPD) and having trouble tying my shoes and other things as well. I felt miserable in my own skin. I am glad I have had this done I am just having trouble with my food, I had to go back to soft and moist foods for a while. I have trouble eating meat so I have been drinking 2 protein drinks per day and then fill the rest with cottage cheese and string cheese. Eggs are ok but only the whites, can't stomach the yolks at all. I am hoping to have the opportunity to share recipes and my experiences with all of you. I am happily married to Kim my husband of 17 years (we have only been married 7 of those years) but we are still in puppy love. LOL....We have 2 dogs that keep us busy one is a Rott/Lab mix and the other is a Malinois Sheppard they are both about 1 1/2 years old and full of energy. I just hope to get better and I plan on doing that with help from all of you. Thank you for your time.
