First Day of PreOp Diet Done
uni2424 replied to uni2424's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my pre-op appointment today and was confused about the clear liquid thing because protein shakes are obviously not clear. He said this 2-3 protein shakes daily, 1 small meal of 450 calories at lunch not dinner and supplement with popsicles, broth and jello. I had lost 7 pounds already which they were pleased with. I attributed some of that to lighter shoes! I was very encouraged by several ladies in the waiting room and their success stories! -
It was a little hard but not near as hard as I expected, the 2 day caffeine withdraw headache finally went away which helps. I know the weekend will be harder when I am less busy. 13 days to go............I think I can, I think I can!

First Day of PreOp Diet Done
uni2424 replied to uni2424's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1 used 1 Spark per day and the nutritionist 1 caffeine, non-carbonated drink per day probably would be ok as long as I drank plenty of fluids. The constant hunger will be coming for me this weekend I am sure, but I have lots on the to do list to try to redirect the focus as much as I realistically can. However, I am a food addict and it is not like this is going to be easy!! -
Hypothroidism, has it limited your weight loss with sleeve?
uni2424 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have chronic hypothyroidism with very little long term weight loss success. Who has had the sleeve with this medical issue and what has your weight loss experience been? -
You are not alone! My mirror is a liar! I get so depressed when I see pics of myself! That is the reason for me having surgery, it is affecting my life! I won't even take family pics!
-
I had a sleep study done last night also! Terrible experience! How do they really expect you to sleep! You think with today's technology that it would be an easier process.

You can go to search and put in his last name then click surgeon. If anyone has put him on here it will show his patients. I did that with my surgeon and messaged several of his past clients to see what their experience was.

My husband's fear is the risk. After the EGD the nurse told him he was just insecure about me losing weight. His reply was "are you trying to insinuate that no one else would want her the way she is but me?" Scored some points with me, I am not going anywhere but I have to feel better about the way I look for me!! The insecurity will pass with your guys once they see a happy, secure and more attentive partner!!

Gaining weight pre op
uni2424 replied to jersey_girl_86's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have severe hypothyroidism as well. Every time I go on a diet it is like my body goes into to shock and won't lose anything for a couple of weeks-of course this why most have failed because I become unmotivated knowing I followed everything to a T! Fortunately, my pre-op is 2 days after I start my 2 week program and I don't have to see the nutritionist again. I don't have time for the negativity. I bet even though you haven't lost weight that your liver has shrunk because you have reduced your fat!! -
I start Wednesday! I am a little worried! I have written down tons of projects that I need to get done to keep me busy so hopefully I won't think about food as much as usual! Good Luck with it!

EGD done, nutrition evaluation done, sleep study tonight, pre-op diet starts Wednesday, pre-op appointment next Saturday and I am ready for surgery March 4. I am a little disappointed that I have a cold and loss of appetite so I am not enjoying some of a favorite foods before pre-op diet but I guess that is God's way of preparing me that I can do this!!

I am scheduled for March 4!!

Hypothroidism, has it limited your weight loss with sleeve?

50 lbs is great! I would be pleased with that! -
I know most doctors say don't drink caffeine after surgery. I don't drink soda but I love my morning Spark. Has anyone had success drinking this after surgery?
-
I work at a school and want to do my Spring Break as well! I have an appointment with Dr. Frenzel on February 7. What hospital are you using for your surgery with him?

I would be happy with 20 lbs in 10 days. I have never been able to do that any other way! I have maintained a consistent weight within 10 lbs for years. All weight loss plans have been unsuccessful! I have had a trainer for a year! I have nice muscles under my fat! Hoping the sleeve will help me with weight loss portion!
