Why different post op diet requirements?
Annie77 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does anyone know why doctors have different post-op diet requirements for the same surgery? -
Thank you so much for the information, I didn't know. Now I understand why people say the sleeve is a tool. I was self pay and was not required to attend any sessions or meetings. I'm reading a lot and learning from experienced sleevers. Thank you!

Have you had a consultation? The doctor can help you make an informed decision. Just my opinion.

Dr. John Alexander did my sleeve surgery 2 weeks ago and I'm doing great!! -
Welcome! I'm going to be honest and tell you that my friend did the research and had the sleeve done along with both her daughters a year ago. They have been very successful and Look great! She shared her experience with me and told me the sleeve was the way to go. I totally trust her so I had the sleeve done 12/20 and have been doing great thank God! All of my excess weight is around my belly and I am pre diabetic. I know this new way of life is going to prevent me from getting diabetes and my knees and back will stop hurting. This was my Christmas gift and I'm very grateful!!! : )

Why different post op diet requirements?

Wow, I can't imagine tuna salad the day after surgery. I had a hard time sipping Water or crystal lite. It's amazing how doctors are so different. I'm 2 weeks and can drink water more normal. Liquids go right through me and I'm always hungry. I've heard I will be full once I start with soft foods. -
I've heard that a stall is normal but you will continue to lose inches. That sounds good to me : )

I haven't had any problems thank Jesus! I was sleeved on 12/20 and go back to work on Monday. I did feel very very weak the first week and wondered how I was going to make it to work. I feel much better now but I'm still taking it easy, walking and sipping my Water. You'll be fine.

Hi, I was just sleeved Dec. 20, 2014 and I'm afraid of gaining the weight back and I keep telling myself it won't be possible because I eat so little... How does one gain the weight back? Are we able to eat more later'? Thank you!

Why different post op diet requirements?
Annie77 replied to Annie77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm supposed to be on clear liquids for 3 weeks then soft foods (only soups) for a month. I feel weak and I think I need more substantial foods (soft or puréed). -
