    Discouraged

I don't think this would be considered a stall because it has only been 2 days. I'm in the same boat though - 1 week no change in weight (8 weeks out). I upped my exercise and wonder if that's causing the delay. I also had some carbs this week which I regret and wonder if it has also had an impact on me losing. I know this isn't very helpful but wanted to say you're not alone.
  3. Oh my - that sounds horrible! Glad you recovered!

Hashmito's Thyroiditis and Weight Loss Surgery

I have hypothyroidism and had my surgery 2/19. I am currently down 27 lbs total (including liquid pre surgery diet) and am doing well. I seem to lose steadily, although slowly. The slow space may be a result of my BMI (somewhat lower than most on here).

    Overweight!

I'm down 27 lbs and am no longer obese! Just overweight. I haven't been overweight in about 8 years - I've tried for years with diets and extensive running and nothing seemed to work. I am so grateful for this sleeve. Normal weight here I come for you!!!!

    Blurred vision when I stand

I'm 5 weeks out and down 25 lbs (15 post surgery). I've had high blood pressure for a while and with my meds sometimes I can get dizzy/vision fuzzy (best way I can describe it) from my meds (an actual listed side effect). It goes away in seconds. Within the past few days, it has gotten worse (more intense). Any ideas what would cause that?

Are you following a Paleo Diet?

I'm about 70% paleo. I still eat cheese regularly, only sometimes carbs, and sometimes a sweet tea.

    Blurred vision when I stand

I want to say thank you to everyone who took the time to respond. I took my blood pressure this evening and it was down to 110/80 before I took my evening meds. I wonder if It was dropping too low with my meds. I'm calling my PCP tomorrow to see if I can stop altogether. Thanks again everyone!

    Sushi?

I'm pre op and wondering if people post op are able to stomach sushi months post surgery.

    10 days post op!

I'm 16 days out and sticking to protein shakes, whipped Greek yogurt, and soups (broth and creamy based). I've done well except for a cauliflower soup I had that didn't sit well. Monday I start purées and plan to try cottage cheese, yogurt, applesauce, fruit in my shakes (like bananas), beans with cheese/salsa, and hummus. We'll see how these things go down.

    What’s Your Relationship with Caffeine?

I'm 9 days out and haven't used coffee (daily drinker before). Trying not to get into the habit again.
  14. I'm only 9 days post op but no issues so far.

    Artificial sugar vs real sugar

I'm glad you posted this. I'm new to the sleeve and very leery to go back to artificial sweeteners.

    "Thank God for My Sleeve!"

I'm thankful for God for keeping me safe and never leaving my side. I'm also thankful for my surgeon and hospital staff. To me - saying thanks does not need to be mutually exclusive.

    4 days post opt!

I'm at day 2 and I'm awake for 2-3 hours before I nap for 1-2 hours. I feel like an infant, lol. And fluids ... They sort of hurt or cause discomfort to me. Gas related is my guess? Hope I turn a good corner soon.

    low bmi still obese

I can relate too. My surgery is Thursday and I'm 5'3 and weigh 192. My highest weight (not pregnant) was 211 and my pre diet weight was 199. I have been on a diet, clearly unsuccessful, for a decade. In high school, I was overweight after losing my maternal grandmother (graduated high school at 196). I joined weight watchers and got down to 140 and felt amazing! But, I gained it all back and then some slowly over the years. I'm sick of being fat and I can't seem to lose on my own. I workout hard (boot camp style) and I have been monitoring my food intake for so long and tried countless diets. I just can't seem to knock this. I've now been diagnosed with hypertension and hypothyroidism. I don't want my health to deteriorate further. I pray the sleeve is my answer and will help. I'm 30 and want my 30s to be amazing!

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

I've really struggled too. Surgery is Thursday for me. I do really well all day until I get home and my 3 year old insists on me trying whatever. I have taken 1 or 2 bites and that's it. I also didn't realize that 2 things I was eating was against the rules (minestrone soup that had some noodles AND tea sweetened with honey). I have lost only 5lbs in 2 weeks (I'm relatively low BMI to begin with). I challenge myself not to see it in black and white terms - it isn't I did the diet or I didn't. 95% of the time I did! I have 4 more days to continue improving the 5% remaining. And learn from the mistakes. My downfall is getting too hungry (fixed by timing my shakes and broth better) and nighttime boredom (fixed by chewing gum or having tea).

Hey all, I'm pre op and preparing for my post op recovery. What Vitamins do you take daily and in what form (pill, liquid, chewables). I'll check with my NUT too.
