  1. Biggest surprise for me was the emotions, dealing with the head hunger, and acne. My skin has been clear forever but I've been breaking out ever since I had the surgery. They say it's normal but I hate it. Also, I am exhausted. I work a lot of hours but I am surprised at my lack of stamina. I am having to dig very deep to drag myself to the gym after work. And the weight does not just fall off - at least for me. I have to work at it every day. Also, how disheartening it is when the scale doesn't move. That's tough too.

    Calories

They had to up my calorie intake Bc I stopped losing weight. So, as long as you're still losing you should be good!

2 Days Post Open Severe Nausea

I had really bad nausea and was given an anti nausea med. And was also on Percocet to dull the pain. If that's not doing it and the doc won't do anything (have you gotten the doc or the nurses?) go to the hospital...if it's truly that bad. No reason to get dehydrated and be in terrible pain. That's what I'd do if it was me.

4 days post-op and really hungry

I was like that. It got worse until the 2 week point. I'm 7 weeks out now and on solid foods and it's completely different. Just give it time.

    calories

My nut just increased me to 700 because I was having some issues with my weight loss slowing. She thinks my body was in starvation mode. It just depends how your body reacts. Everyone is different.
  7. Hi all - my NUT just raised me to 700 calories a day because she thinks my body may be in starvation mode. I am approximate 7 weeks out. Any thoughts on that? I had good weight loss the first month and it has slowed to a crawl. Getting approx 40oz or more of fluid a day, meeting protein goals, but struggling on losing. Thanks!

    Level of Help Post-Op

Let me clarify - it's not like I felt like a million bucks, but I could get through on my own. Someone stayed with me the first night after the hospital then I was good to go. My advice is to take the pain meds for several days. I tried to back off too early and it ended up making me feel worse.
  9. I'm struggling with fluid as well and we have the same time frame. I probably get 32 - 40 oz most days. I don't think I've hit 64 since I was sleeved. I know it's impacting my weight loss, but it's very hard for me.

    Level of Help Post-Op

The only thing I needed was for someone to drive me home and carry things. Other than that I was self sustained.

    discouraged

I would be ecstatic for that loss. I am doing all the right things too but not losing that quickly. I guess it differs from person to person.

    Typical weight loss

I am six weeks out today and have also hit a stall. I am following the program so it's a bit frustrating. I know we shouldn't look for validation on the scale but I do. It's tough even though I know it's not even mathematically possible for me to have gained or not lost. Mind games.

    ADJUSTING TO EATING....

No drinking 30 minutes after has been tough. You will only need a few meals of not chewing everything to remember you need to chew. Right now I have a timer set so I know when I can drink again. The timer is very helpful with eating and drinking.
  14. No, my dad died of non alcoholic cirrhosis which turned into liver cancer and I have fatty tissue liver disease. The sleeve will actually greatly reduce any liver issues so even if there is a problem (which there could be no problem at all and your counts are just off) the surgery will help. My liver doc says I should be good as new in two years. So, not a medical professional, just saw my dad go through it for six years and have had my own personal struggles. Glad you are seeing the doc - I'm sure it's nothing. And, if it is, you just took a great step to making it better by getting the surgery.
  15. I'd go see a liver doc. Non alcoholic cirrhosis is the number one cause of liver transplants. Not trying to scare you, it could be nothing, just don't ignore this. See a specialist or at least ask your PCP what they think.

    I need help!

I was puréed foods on day 2 and my weight loss is fine. I agree it's just your body adjusting.
  19. these meals are super high in protein. Not in every city and we can't have everything in all of them, but they taste pretty good and are vacuum sealed. They don't have all the bad additives.

    February sleevers

can I be allowed in? I was sleeved 2/5.

    Test results

See the liver doc - it could be non alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver or it could be adjustment but don't ignore it. My dads liver cancer was caught very early by someone noticing his counts were off and not ignoring it. I'm not trying to scare you but i would err on the side of caution. My counts are fine but my doc said my liver was 2.5x the size of a normal liver and that I should go see a doc. I'm going.

    Temptations

@@LSF I have been going to restaurants now for a couple of weeks. It's definitely doable and you get a few meals out of one order. If your fellow diners do not know about it then it can be a bit awkward but I just pushed through it.

    Back to work soon- tiredness?

I am 5 weeks post op - maybe it's the hours I work (50 - 60 per week), but I'm exhausted at the end of the day. I know I should be getting up and going to the gym but just can't do it. I started b12 shots last week so I hope that helps.
  24. I struggle with it a great deal. I use miralax and stool softeners every day but to not avail. I still have to use the tea and sometimes I have to use lactulose (a prescription) to have movement.
