Hi Dina, I also had a lower BMI of 35. I have struggled with weight all my life, gaining and losing and gaining and losing. This surgery has been a miracle for me. I'm down 90 lbs and was told to stop losing weight. Went from a size 18 to a size 2. I'm one year out, active and very focused on eating healthy.

ha! Yes and I'm not complaining. Just curious if anyone else can easily drink a large shake but not eat. Thx! -

Quantity of Food - 4 weeks out

I am four weeks out. I can eat an entire protein shake no problem (blender with lots of ice mixed in) but I can't eat anything in quantity other than shakes. Soups, scrambled egg, courage cheese - I get about four bites in and I can't eat anymore. Is this normal? -
Can it really be this easy?

@ - thank you! -
What does everyone recommend for Vitamins? I tried one liquid version and the taste is awful! Looking for good recommendations for chewable or liquid!

@ Hi Kate, how are you getting in all the protein with such few calories??? I also had no issues after surgery and am two weeks out but I have to do 3 or 4 shakes a day to get my protein and I think the calories and volume is too much. Help! -
I am eating so much jello, broth and popsicles is this ok?
sallydswanson replied to wagyu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasnt allowed to eat jello on the liquid phase....just make sure you are following the doctors menu. Put unflavored protein in the liquids . You will eat less of this filler stuff when you increase protein. -

Two days post op!
sallydswanson replied to my_new_lifetime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had mine on Tuesday. I was released on Wednesday and that second day was by far the worst. Naseous and throwing up. Naseous medicine helped. Now I'm day four and feel good! Gas pain in shoulder is finally gone / that was the most painful part. Trying hard to get liquids and proteins in but that isn't easy. Overall, by day 4 everything is going pretty well. -
Thanks everyone,
-
I had my sleeve done yesterday morning and am now home. I can't keep any liquids down - makes me nauseous when I sip anything. How do you get your liquids in?
-
Same here. Right side only for me. I had surgery yesterday and the pain in my right back and shoulder is horrible. Pain from incisions is nothing (although I had a pain block during surgery that probably hasn't worn off yet) - but the gas issue is very painful.

Any sleevers scheduled for late July?

I had my surgery yesterday, too. How are you holding up?
