Boy I just killed myself this weekend. I ate all kinds of stuff that I shouldn't of. I had a little weight gain too. So back on the wagon I go! I have two weeks before my surgery to get my head together! Wish me luck!

That is so encouraging to hear! You were up walking in just 15 minutes once you were back in your room! Awesome! Let us know how everything is going along the way. Very happy for you!

Thanks for the information! I've been wondering what it was like. That is amazing that you have no desire to eat. For years, I wanted to be one of those girls that said "I forgot to eat." I loved my shakes now they seem obnoxiously sweet. The protein shot stuff I got is sweet and has an aftertaste. I have no desire to eat anything. Everything seems super globby tasting. I also have a mega head ache.

I have to say, I started on phase 2 of my diet and I'm having a hard time. For phase 2, I have a shake for breakfast and one for lunch and then a small dinner. I can still have veggies with my shakes and 2 small snacks. But, my body thinks it is starving. My poor husband is trying to be super patient. I feel cranky!

It might be from lack of food. I know I have diet brain...for sure!

I've been reading about this. Is it that everything tastes bland or just different from how you know it tastes? I'm super curious.

For me, my pre-op was looking at my overall health...doing blood work. My Vitamins and stuff like that. They also looked at my thyroid and cholesterol. I had an EKG and a chest X-ray. I'm with @defitvt though, they are looking to see if you cheated...that is funny!

I'm right there with you on this...super hard to watch someone eat something you love. I sometimes have to leave the room because it's just to much for me. I'm such a wimp!

Are you exercising? Sometimes that will make you gain weight too. You could not be eating enough...you know how that works, you body will go into starvation mode. I can totally understand what you are going through...it can be so frustrating. My fingers are crossed that the scale will move for you...in the right direction!

I just got some disappointing news today. My Doctor decided he needed to take 3 weeks off. Which, it just so happens to fall right when my surgery was scheduled. Now, I'm rescheduled for March 24th. Also...I have already started the pre-surgery diet...grrr. Which means I'm on it a week longer. I hope I have the strength to stay on it. The 1,000 calories or less per day is very hard on my poor old brain. Everyone around me is going to have to deal with me being ditzy for one more week.

I have been on the phase one of the pre-op diet for 3 weeks now. At first I was hungry all the time. Now, it is better. I started early because my body is so resistant to losing weight...it was a big worry for me! I have lost 9 out of the 15 pounds I needed to lose prior to surgery. I still have 4 weeks to go. I'm hopeful I will lose the rest. As the time comes near, I'm so ready for this to happen and get on with life. I'm thinking the first order of business will be roller coaster riding! It will be nice to fit into the chairs and be able to run around the park all day. What are you guys excited to do once you achieve your new weight and start your new life?

@spicy06- My program wants me to use the Meal Replacement shakes. I used Bariatric Advantage. I think they have 6 flavors to choose from. You can order them online.

I started phase 1 of my pre-op diet. I add a Protein shake in for Breakfast and snack. The biggest thing I noticed is I miss a hot meal for breakfast. The shakes taste fine...I like the chocolate, vanilla and orange flavors the best. When I move into phase 3, I will be on shakes with just a little veggies. I know why they want me to go through this way of eating...to get me ready for post surgery diet but I have to admit, it will be hard. I'll miss chewing. Believe it or not. I'm just trying to keep in mind that it won't be forever...it may feel like it at the time but it will be over soon. I hope we all keep in touch after the surgery. I think it will help give us the will to power through! Best wishes everyone!
