At my pre-op they told me to bath in antibacterial the day of the surgery. She said it was to make my skin as clean as possible. The no perfumes or lotions is because they will be sticking a lot of those monitor pads on your skin. She didn't mention that I couldn't wash my hair or put on deodorant or even face cream. They did say no eye makeup. So, we get to go in all super clean with no makeup on...

@@Chrystee I'm excited for you! Let us know how everything turns out!

Hang in there. I too was very hungry...like stomach growling hungry. I was super tired also. Also, I had a major case of diet brain. About day 4, I felt much better. Lots of energy and not so hungry. But the diet brain has stuck around, unfortunately! It will get better soon.

Thank God no, I would be all kinds of frustrated. Hang in there...it will get better.

One week until surgery. I'm really getting excited...little nervous too. I'm so ready. Made a milestone...lost 20 lbs so far. I haven't been lower than 240 for about 5 years. Happy dance! Come on March 24th...get here already! @FortKnox78...I too am not excited about the liquid diet but we are almost there!

@@chaggard, so glad to hear you are ready...just playing devils advocate. I'm right there with you. I feel the pressure to succeed too. I think we all are putting a lot of hope into our surgeries. It's sounds like you are in the right frame of mind. You are working hard to make new habits. I think we will all have bad days but always remember, we are all here for each other. Best wishes and keep talking...let us know how you are doing!

I added up my calories too and I'm at about 640 to 680 per day.

@chaggard; Are you sure you are ready to have surgery? If not, it's not to late the stop the process and think about it some more. I'm a self pay also, I think I have added more pressure to myself because of it. I feel like...that is a lot of money and I better not fail! I think that it comes from my many attempts to try to lose weight on my own in the past and not succeeding. Try not to worry, you will have a great tool on your side. It will be a struggle at times but you can conquer it!! Remember, if you fall off the wagon, crawl back on and start again. I'm feeling really ready and positive that I will succeed this time...and so will you! Hello, Just joined this group because i am having terrible anxiety about my upcoming surgery, which is on 3/27/2015. I am very excited but i think my excitement is taking the back burner to my anxiety. I find my self up at 4 or 5 in the morning just running though so many things in my head. I am a self pay patents so my first consultations was in early February. I don't know if its because everything is happening so fast or because i haven't gone through months of monitoring, but I am so afraid that I am going to fail. I have watched youtube videos, read comments on support pages, and asked my doctor questions, but nothing has really put me at ease. I think I feel unprepared. I am about to start my pre-liquid diet on Friday and haven't even got my Protein supplement, which I will get before Friday but its just another stress. Anyway This is my last hope so the fear of failing is very really. I know I have to put in lots of work and I am more then willing to do that but I am worried that old habits will come back in a year or 2 yrs that what i keep reading at least. Anyway and thoughts and advice are welcome!

Hi, I was up 4 lbs and I totally agree, how is that possible! I'm with you, we can not dwell or get upset. We'll just keep chugging along. ???? The first day of the liquid diet went well. I did add some organic broth. It was a good addition. I haven't tried the infused broth but they sound good. I hope all is well! quote name="Jill_Icardi" post="3775540" timestamp="1425948827"] @@stacy 458 My weight was up 5 pounds after I ate that cheeseburger and fries last Sat. How is that even humanly possible? I was down 1 pound this morning. I basically lost a week's progress. Oh well...not going to dwell...especially since I'm on day 2 of this liquid diet. Hey have you or anyone reading this tried those new Swanson chicken broths that are infused? Like the Mexican Tortilla or Chinese Hot n Sour? I was just wondering...all these protein shakes are so sweet. Something savory would break it up a bit. Anyway...I saw you were starting your pre op. Yay! Good luck...stay positive!!

Hi Maria Elena, my doc has put me on a pre surgery diet. I have to drink meal replacement shakes. I'm in the phase where in have a shake for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can have 1 to 2 cups of veggies with lunch and dinner. I used to be able to have a snack like a cheese stick or yogurt but now I have to give those up and have a small shake. About 3 days before surgery, I can only have liquids. I'm a little nervous. I'm starting tomorrow. Wish me luck! ???? And good luck to you! ????
