I would suggest going to multiple information seminars of surgeons in your area. Obtain as much information from them as you can -
Surgery tomorrow...I'm nervous...excited...counting down the hours.

I feel the same way, but I'm a stomach sleeper so it'll be a big adjustment for a while. I am curious to know if a body pillow will help with side sleepers though -

I had one for mine. An egd can show gastritis, hiatal hernia, h pylori, ulcers etc -

Trust me I deal with insurances she could have faxed it and because bcbs are a bunch of idiots received it but didn't log it. That may not be the case here, but at work we've faxed things got confirmation spoke to someone at bcbs got confirmation from the rep they received it, called to follow up and were told they don't have it lol -

I wouldn't use the gallbladder excuse...that's same day surgery and you can typically go back to light duty in 3 days. Plus I always feel karma will get you for lying and you'll need it out at a later date. I would just tell them you're having surgery and if they ask what kind I would say I'd rather not talk about it -

Do you know what the allowed amounts were? They may have billed 40k and have gotten paid what they got paid and not bill you because they got paid 100% of the allowed amount -
I work for a gastroenterologist office. The procedure itself takes 15 minutes. We recommend no driving for 16 hours and you will feel groggy. I, myself had had many of the egds and I've been alone afterwards with no issues, but I guess every dr is different

Just be careful because I work with insurances on a daily basis and you can call 10 different times for the same issue on same patient and get 10 different answers -
I just received the call from the insurance specialist at my surgeon's office!! I've been approved!!! Feb 9th can't come fast enough! Next stop pre-admission testing!!

Sleeve or lap band?

I wanted to do the lap band at first, but I've read that people have a lot of complications with it. I know two people personally that had problems. Also, at one of the seminars I went to the docs said that 1 in 10 people fail with the band. I decided to go with the sleeve and am scheduled Feb 9th pending ins approval. Ultimately the decision is yours though -
