Thank you @@foevlo . Good luck and best wishes on your journey. A year? That stinks. But think of everything you can accomplish in that year. It will be here before you know it. I'm doing much better now with recovery. Being home really helped me:-) Keep us posted! -
Actual surgical procedure question
onmywaytobeingfound replied to MamaTo3inNH's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My lowest incision is above my belly button. I already had 1 under my belly button from my gallbladder being removed. I had 3 c sections. Only with my last one did they tape up my big flabby belly :-) it was soo embarrassing for me! I think with this surgery though, they will "blow up" your stomach with gas. No need for taping, pretty sure. -

Cleaning out my closet
onmywaytobeingfound replied to tfarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had surgery. I'm not even a week yet, but I am soo looking forward to cleaning out my closet. I did have a hard time getting rid of maternity clothes. I still have 1 of my favorite prego shirts hanging in my closet. My last baby is 6 yrs old! Lol. But it will go along with my "fat" clothes as soon as I can. Can't wait!! :-) -
UHC Choice Plus - HSA (MO) - Perplexed - no requirements?
onmywaytobeingfound replied to no onions's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have uhc in Ohio through my husband's employer. I had surgery 12/30/14. I did the weight loss program through Ohio Health. Uhc immediately sent approval to Ohio health. All I had to do was complete my programs requirements, which was do a minimum of 3 dietician appts, sleep studies, specialists visits etc. I entered the program in August 2014. I did lose 25 lbs following dietician instruction post op. But was not required to by insurance or Ohio health. But once you enter a program they should send off all paperwork to uhc and then you and your program will get a paper of coverage. It was that easy with mine. But from what I hear my uhc is abnormal compared to other insurance companies. Good luck!! -

Thank you MaryL 83. I wouldn't be surprised if most people don't have a rough start. I increasingly felt better through the day yesterday. Slept pretty good last night. Feels good to get my clear liquids in this morning. I'm hoping for a bright new future :-) -

@@amylynns congratulations! I'm "eating" my first foods today. I don't know that I've ever been this excited for jello and broth. Lol they're going down well so far. But wow, 49 lbs in 2 1/2 mo. That's amazing. -

First, thank you for the prayers and thoughts sent my way! I appreciate it a lot. This is the first time I've picked up my phone since surgery. Yesterday was rough. I wished I hadn't done surgery. This morning I threw up twice. Little amounts, mostly stomach acid. Spent the morning thinking I would better be if I was dead. But I started drinking little sips of water. Got ahead of the pain and nausea. Feeling much better now. Looking forward to having clear liquid in the morning. Possible release tomorrow. I'm burping some. Hiccups are frequent, but I guess normal. So there's my update. Thanks all!
