5 Weeks Post Op Food and Travel Advice
Rhonda137 replied to almosttogoal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eggs are cheap and easy when you're eating in. Cottage cheese too. I know you need more variety but they are good for the mushy phase and easy to find . -

I was told to leave them alone and let them fall off. -
What to take to the hospital
Rhonda137 replied to Soontobeskinnyme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't stay overnight. I took my favorite slippers, chap stick, toothbrush and toothpaste, , phone and charger, and Gas-x. And of course loose clothes to wear home. -

5 days post op and constantly hungry!
Rhonda137 replied to aprilsleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on liquids for three weeks following my surgery , and hungry the entire time. As difficult as it was being hungry all the time, I was happy that there was no nausea. The hunger went away after I started soft foods, now I only feel hunger occasionally. I was on liquids for three weeks following my surgery , and hungry the entire time. I absolutely cannot make up my mind!
Rhonda137 replied to ==='s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was nervous about the surgery too, it seems to be a normal reaction. But the recovery was surprisingly easy and I haven't he any complications from having the sleeve. There was an adjustment starting with the pre-op diet and adjusting continued after the surgery. New way of eating and all. But I'm very happy that I had the surgery, no regrets whatsoever. -
Ladies! Pain Levels post-op
Rhonda137 replied to windeedae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My c-section was much worse than my sleeve. Sleeve wasn't nearly as painful, I still needed pain meds for about a week but never had the pain I had with my c-section. Plus, getting up and moving around was easier with the sleeve. Trying to get all the fluids and protein in the first week or so was my challenge , but the sleeve recovery was surprisingly easy. -

I can only tolerate the premier chocolate ready made shakes.

I had surgery at noon and left to go home at 7:30 that evening. No problems and didn't need to spend the night in the hospital .

Second surgery!?!?
Rhonda137 replied to sarahbeth3569's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So sorry. I hope you get some relief soon , one way or another. -
I was sleeved in January . My first week was tough, I wanted real food and I had a hard time getting the fluids in. I wanted a sandwich, lol. At 3 weeks I was able to have soft foods , life got better. Now I eat protein and I don't miss the other unhealthy foods. It really is a process that starts with the liquids and by the time you reach solid foods, you don't miss the high calorie foods.

Travelling 3 months out
Rhonda137 replied to livingstone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I disagree with the appetizer. Most items on the appetizer menu are starchy fried fatty foods. Yummy of course but unless it's a shrimp cocktail or something along those lines, it's hard to eat healthy from appetizers. The kids menus are overlooked because most people think thy only have selection like Mac and cheese and hamburgers. Some are that way, but there are many restraunts that have grilled chicken breasts and vegetables on their kid menus. It's hard to go to dinner and find small healthy portions. -

Yes, test out foods beforehand. You won't be able to eat much. I sometimes order off the kids menu if the restaurant allows and there is something other than chicken nuggets on the menu. Soup also doesn't seem so obvious to how little you can eat . Or if you and your friends are up to it, you can share plates. Portions are usually so large anyway. -

Blender Recommendations

I have a Bullet. It's works well and has individual containers. Plus , it's super easy to clean. -
My husband didn't want me to have the surgery at first, but he was still supportive. It's been 6 weeks since my surgery and now he's happy with my decision to have the surgery. I'm losing weight and I'm off my meds. It's all been a good experience . But he wasn't positive before the surgery, he thought it was too extreme.
