At what point did you notice your weight loss slow down?
katcycler replied to IveGotThePower's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
At about 1 year I stopped losing but I lost 161 lbs and was 20lbs under my goal. I have maintained within 3 lbs for another year. I pray it continues well into the future. -
Did anyone Joe a personal trainer to assist them
katcycler replied to joei0005's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate working out so to keep me on the right path, I signed up for 3 days per week for one year and because it cost me a small fortune, I went every time. It kept me on track and I lost 160lbs in one year with no stalls. I can't say positively it was the exercise, but I believe it was. Now, at 2 years out, I have a trainer twice a week and have maintained my Weightloss. HW 311, SW 298, CW 151. -
I'm exactly the same. My husband doesn't cook either. He finds what he likes and microwaves a lot. At first after my surgery, I did fix eggs for me. I would hard boil a dozen and eat them through the week. I would but soft cheese and yogurt. If he wanted to eat that, he would. Now 2 years out, we go out to eat as we used to do and I find something to eat and he does as well. In a perfect world, he would eat healthy like me, but that ain't gonna happen. We both hate to cook and it's ok. Take out works well too. Just not everyday. You will be fine.

Does anyone even bother with salads anymore?
katcycler replied to justhere4theshow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love salads. Have them for dinner almost everyday. Add all kinds of healthy goodies to them. Great for keeping me regular. -

Veterans ONLY please. One year + post op.
katcycler replied to LipstickLady's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I'm 19 months post op and would love a vets only forum!! We are over run by newbies which I am happy we have, but veterans needs are different and I would appreciate some "quiet time" with Vets only. -
I would love to see more of before and after pics. It keeps me motivated during this time of my journey! Thank you everyone.

Before 311, After 18 months out 151 ! -
I'm 18 months out and can't even see them. I didn't use anything except skin lotion once in awhile.
-
Relax and embrace the hair loss. It will stop. Mine started at month 4 and lasted till month 8. It got really thin and has been growing back since. I'm 18 months out from surgery and the new growth is coming in to where my hair is pretty thick again. I still take 10000 mcg of biotin daily. It won't stop the hair loss but it does help with regrowth.

You're gonna do fine. I had liquids only for 2 weeks before and 3 weeks after surgery. The before was hard for 2 days but became much easier the second week. After surgery you really don't want much to eat and truly can't get much in except liquids anyway. Protein shakes, fruit2o, sugar free Popsicles , sugar free jello and broth kept me going and really wasn't bad at all. Keep variety. It will go by quickly. If you have head hunger, get up and walk around a bit.

Veterans - What Size are You After Weight Loss?
katcycler replied to careya123's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

Switching from liquid to mushies
katcycler replied to NatashaSaysRawr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Scrambled eggs with cheese was my go to mushy. Greek yogurt as well. I never did mashed potatoes due to high carb content. -
I lost so much hair I thought I would go bald starting at 4 months and lasting till 7months, but I didn't go bald. It just got really thin and has been growing back ever since 7 months. It's starting to thicken up again thank goodness. I took 10,000 mcg of biotin from day one after surgery and all my protein as well. It will come back, but it can be very scary while it's coming out.

Get back on track. Protein first, veggies second, carbs last!! You can do this! -
How did you deal with changes to your hair during regrowth
katcycler replied to Djmohr's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
My hair is growing back as well and I had a Brazilian blowout which took care of all my frizz. I love my no frizz hair now! The really short pieces are controlled nicely. -

Veterans: Sluggish bowels?
katcycler replied to LumpySpacePrincess's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My bowels work fine since about 6m out as long as I eat nuts like almonds or pistachio blends. Usually a salad a day keeps the constipation away! -

Congrats on your loss and recovery. I am also 14m out and was lurking and praying for you as you went through that nightmare during the first few months. It's so great to see how well you've done. I remember your wife was going through a lot as well. I hope she is well also. Maintenance is a one day at a time process as well. You look great. Keep it up! -
Almost a year out and only lost 64lbs
katcycler replied to branlee90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try to reduce your carbs. They were the highest pie piece in your graph. I'm over a year out and still stay under 50g per day. For me, carb control was key to my weight loss. Sw 311 CW 151. 5'10 You can do this !! -
Alcohol and Weightloss
katcycler replied to Cape Crooner's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Cape Crooner, I too have been having a couple drinks since was 4 months out of surgery. I continually lost weight as well. I am over one year out of surgery now and lost 160 lbs. and am 20 lbs under goal! My weight loss has pretty much stopped now. I still have a few drinks every week so you keep doing what your doing because it seems to be working for you. What difference does it matter if your burning 3000 or 30 ? You're losing so enjoy it. Just remember, it will slow down at some point! -
Veterans....#1 thing you miss / don't miss
katcycler replied to Kindle's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I miss my thick full hair. I don't miss being out of breathe, unable to walk stairs, wearing "fat lady" clothes. -
I originally wanted band as well, but after surgeon advised sleeve, I went with that and am 1 year out of surgery and have lost 160lbs. Best decision I ever made!! SW 311, CW 151
