  1. At about 1 year I stopped losing but I lost 161 lbs and was 20lbs under my goal. I have maintained within 3 lbs for another year. I pray it continues well into the future.
  2. I hate working out so to keep me on the right path, I signed up for 3 days per week for one year and because it cost me a small fortune, I went every time. It kept me on track and I lost 160lbs in one year with no stalls. I can't say positively it was the exercise, but I believe it was. Now, at 2 years out, I have a trainer twice a week and have maintained my Weightloss. HW 311, SW 298, CW 151.

    Question from a Non-cook

I'm exactly the same. My husband doesn't cook either. He finds what he likes and microwaves a lot. At first after my surgery, I did fix eggs for me. I would hard boil a dozen and eat them through the week. I would but soft cheese and yogurt. If he wanted to eat that, he would. Now 2 years out, we go out to eat as we used to do and I find something to eat and he does as well. In a perfect world, he would eat healthy like me, but that ain't gonna happen. We both hate to cook and it's ok. Take out works well too. Just not everyday. You will be fine.
  4. Love salads. Have them for dinner almost everyday. Add all kinds of healthy goodies to them. Great for keeping me regular.

Veterans ONLY please. One year + post op.

I'm 19 months post op and would love a vets only forum!! We are over run by newbies which I am happy we have, but veterans needs are different and I would appreciate some "quiet time" with Vets only.

    Scars

I'm 18 months out and can't even see them. I didn't use anything except skin lotion once in awhile.

    Losing hair !

Relax and embrace the hair loss. It will stop. Mine started at month 4 and lasted till month 8. It got really thin and has been growing back since. I'm 18 months out from surgery and the new growth is coming in to where my hair is pretty thick again. I still take 10000 mcg of biotin daily. It won't stop the hair loss but it does help with regrowth.

    Four week liquid diet....

You're gonna do fine. I had liquids only for 2 weeks before and 3 weeks after surgery. The before was hard for 2 days but became much easier the second week. After surgery you really don't want much to eat and truly can't get much in except liquids anyway. Protein shakes, fruit2o, sugar free Popsicles , sugar free jello and broth kept me going and really wasn't bad at all. Keep variety. It will go by quickly. If you have head hunger, get up and walk around a bit.
  10. I'm 5'10" and pre surgery was size 26. 14 months later and 15 lbs under goal, I wear a size 8.

    Switching from liquid to mushies

Scrambled eggs with cheese was my go to mushy. Greek yogurt as well. I never did mashed potatoes due to high carb content.

    Hair loss

I lost so much hair I thought I would go bald starting at 4 months and lasting till 7months, but I didn't go bald. It just got really thin and has been growing back ever since 7 months. It's starting to thicken up again thank goodness. I took 10,000 mcg of biotin from day one after surgery and all my protein as well. It will come back, but it can be very scary while it's coming out.

    3 months out and cheating

Get back on track. Protein first, veggies second, carbs last!! You can do this!
  14. My hair is growing back as well and I had a Brazilian blowout which took care of all my frizz. I love my no frizz hair now! The really short pieces are controlled nicely.
