  1. No answers, but I can tell you the exact same thing happened to me. Went to a Mexican restaurant, had the chicken Soup. It had a lot of stuff in there, but I only had about 8 tablespoons of the broth only, and it wasn't spicy. About two hours later, I had a complete blow-out (sorry for the TMI) and was thankful that I was very close to a bathroom when it hit. Frustrating! And makes me nervous about starting mushies in a couple of weeks.
  2. I was sleeved on a Monday and returned to work (desk job) the following Monday. I just finished my first week back at work. I had no problems. I did get a little tired in the afternoons, but nothing that was unmanageable.

    "Sharting"

I have nothing to add to this conversation- just wanted to say the title of the topic made me LOL.

    10 days post op.

I would check with your doc about bumping it up from the 1 oz every 15 minutes. We were sleeved same day, and my instructions were to work towards increasing that as I tolerated. I'm now able to do 4 oz in 15 minutes pretty easily. Hopefully that will help. You're doing great!

    Eating 8 days out?

Just want to say I'm jealous of all you people getting to eat "real" food! I'm 9 days out, and my surgeon is super strict, so I'm supposed to be on liquids for a full four weeks. I can't wait to eat beans! Or anything, really.

    My new flavor....

It looks like that shake also has some sort of coffee extract, which appears to be a stimulant. You might want to check with your nutritionist to see if that's acceptable- I don't think mine would approve that. However, I feel your pain re: finding a decent tasting shake. I don't like any of them, but I drink them because I have to.
  7. So, I was sleeved exactly one week ago. I am back at work (desk job) and doing fine, other than fatigue. My big excitement, however, is that I have two pairs of shorts that I wore before surgery, and they are literally falling off now- going straight into the Goodwill pile. I'm so excited. I haven't weighed myself and don't plan on it until my post-op appointment. This recovery is not easy, but it feels good to see a difference!
  8. Oh, and you are much better than me with the Isopure crap. I bought a bottle yesterday, took one sip, and had to throw it away.
  9. We were sleeved same day! I can do pretty well with liquids, too. I'm getting close to being able to do 8 ounces within about 20 minutes. My only issue is that I have a lot of gurgling and a sensation of tightness in my throat and chest, which I think may be reflux? I'm on an antacid, but I'm going to call the office on Monday and see what they say. Congratulations!
  10. Same here! 9:00! Good luck!

    $37,500 for sleeve!

I think that price is way too high. Fortunately, I have insurance coverage, but if I didn't, self-pay cost would be $17,500, and that is with a very reputable surgeon at a center of excellence. I can't imagine why the cost would be double!
  12. My surgeon's office completed all the necessary paperwork and sent it to my insurance company for approval. Will the insurance company contact my surgeon with a response or will they contact me? Just wondering if I should be waiting on a phone call from the surgeon or something in the mail from Humana. Thanks!
  13. @@cooperjack, I've never heard of a requirement for a liver biopsy.
  14. @@cooperjack That is awesome! Congratulations!
  15. UPDATE: I'm glad I called the insurance company to check! Turns out they approved me on March 31, the day my paperwork was sent in! They said they faxed the approval to my surgeon, but surgeon's office says they still don't have it, so I'm working on getting the actual letter to them so they can schedule. But the good news is, I'm approved!
  16. Thanks for the info everybody!
