After being on a plateau for a while, I've now reached Onederland:thumbup:. I don't mean to spoil that, but it does seem like an anti-climax to get there as I've been looking forward to it so much. Still, my wife is still in bed and I haven't told her yet! To everyone else close to Onederland - keep going, it will come. I'm walking on sunshine, whoo oo and don't it feel GOOD!

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY

This is what a 100 pound weight loss looks like on me. Start in November 2007, latest in June 2008. -
What is it with this friends number? So I have no friends - is that supposed to make me feel better, more inspired to lose weight, more wanting to come visit this site? Whose idea was that then? Loads of people who visit this site seem to have no friends. :confused2: Don't you think that people with friends already know it? This is a silly no-use addition to the site and should be got rid of. I'm going to get flamed for this post, but since I have no friends I don't care.

I would ban them for life from driving. That's after the ten year jail term. They are all trash. Why should I have to put up with them?

Hi and thanks for that. The second operation went well, with the tube and port being replaced. The port was also resited, now on my right side just below my ribcage. I also had a fill of 3cc during the operation. I go for a second fill in two weeks. I used to teach at Hartland School in Worksop - happy days. -

If you get fed up with your warm weather, please send it to the UK (Nottinghamshire) - we could do with it! Having said that, it's lovely today - that's our summer!:tongue2: I (in a previous thin life) lost a lot of weight after running, which came back straight away. Good while it lasted. That's when I was on 6000 calories a day and couldn't put a pound on, because of my running. I'm getting into the American way of measuring weight just by pounds. Back then, I was 143 pounds, and would go down to 137. I've still got some of my old running gear - God forbid I try it on. -
I'm delighted. One less killer on the road.

Does anyone use CAWL (Computer Aided Weight Loss) software? In other words, does your computer help you lose weight in some way? I use Excel to create a spreadsheet about my weightloss. It can be seen at my blog. I'd like to be more creative though. Any ideas?

Has anyone tried these products? food And Exercise Diary for Windows | Calorie Counter | Food Diary Weightmania - Fitness, Diet, Workout and Nutrition Software Diet Software for Healthy Weight Loss - Stay Motivated FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal If so, what do you think - do they help?

Hi all, I was banded at BMI 41.2 and am now at BMI 28.6. Ive just had my second operation to have the port and tube replaced. I'm finding that my weightloss goes like the dance - slow, slow, quick, quick, slow. But overall, everything is fine and I feel so much better.
-
Nothing to worry about - people have operations all over the world perfectly safely. Being put to sleep can seem a bit scarey, but really it's a breeze. Be prepared to feel sore after the operation. That can take a few days to get rid of. Your body will repair itself in a remarkable manner. I had my latest operation last Friday 23rd May and I was home the next day. You'll be fine. Good luck with the operation.
-
I use a variety of Open Source programs - Open Office, Gimp, Audacity, VLC Media Player etc. I find them to be excellent and in some cases better than their commercial rivals. Do you use any?
-
I'm going for my second operation this Friday 23rd May. This is to replace the tube between band and port, which we know is leaking, but the surgeon also wants to 'have a look around' and see if the band and port needs replacing. I've lost very nearly 90 pounds without the aid of a fill, and it will be 27 weeks on Wednesday since my first operation. I'm almost tempted to ask why do I need the operation again if I've lost that weight. I'm 70% to target weight and I think I could achieve target over the next five to six months. In theory, I should lose faster with a 'working' band - is that right?
-
The NHS (in the UK) are paying for it. I had the second operation yesterday. The port has been replaced and resited and the tube (which had completely come away from the port) has also been replaced. I also had 3ml in the band (which was fine). My chest looks like the sky full of con trails from the planes with the amount of wound scars, but that'll be a small price to pay for the band to finally work.
-
Yeh go for it. BTW, Bon Jovi aren't playing anywhere on 26 June according to their website.....

How did your pre-op go? Pretty straightforward stuff? I go in for my second operation at Derby on Friday 23rd. The tube between the port and band is leaking and they are going to do an 'exploratory' operation to see if there is any other damage to the port and band. If there is, they will replace the parts. I'm not looking forward to the operation, but at least I'm in better shape now than for the first one. Good luck with your operation, I'm sure it will go well. -
Oh you can swear. The last resort of the feeble minded. Moderators - can you get rid of this foul mouthed member?

I think you ought to read the posts properly. I asked R. to name a hospital on the back of another statement.
-
Where did I say that? Are you a mindreader now? (I said that with a smile on my face in a non-aggressive posture). I have no patience with people who slam the NHS without recognising the efforts being made, and then thinking anywhere else is any better.
-
Them name them. Which hospitals? Go on, name just one. You won't though. How do you know? Hearsay, rumour or recorded fact?

Here are images taken on 16 November 2007 and the present 21 April 2008. 84 pounds between them. I'm now not obese, just overweight. -
I guess we all record our weight loss in different ways. I use a spreadsheet to keep a record of how many pounds etc. You can view it and download it at my blog Visions Of Summer How do you do yours?
