Happy Holidays everyone!  My name is Wynne.  I'd say, after all my weight loss efforts (Weight Watchers, Slim4Life, Atkins, South Beach, Fit Medical Weight Loss, Mindful Eating) that I am a walking encyclopedia concerning this topic.  My adult weight has fluctuated a number of times between 160 and 274.  
 
I started considering weight loss surgery around 2007...went to my first informational meeting.  It wasn't until 2014 that I decided to pursue the procedure.  
 
It was important for me to understand the hormonal issues related to weight...ghrelin and hypothalamus. After meeting with the bariatric team and doing my own research, I decided this was the right decision for me.
 
I started my pre-op eating plan began on September 29th and I weighed in at 274 lbs.  When I had my surgery on December 29th I weighed 229 lbs.  Today I weighed in at 221 lbs.  
 
I know the gastric sleeve procedure is the "easy" part...now I am on a forever journey of changing my relationship with food.  During the pre-op process I started seeing a counselor to deal with my food triggers and emotional eating and will continue working with the counselor.  In addition, I am journaling the entire process.  
 
The future is exciting and bright and I am so grateful for this opportunity!
