    Passing out

Could be low blood sugar, too. I have had that happen with low carb.

    Clothes size question...

I would say try a 14 regular. I have some 14W that are too big and the 14 misses' size fits perfectly.

    Rant time.

I am almost 3 months out and doing okay (down 45 lbs, BMI from 34 on day of surgery to 27.8 now), but I feel depressed and not as motivated to exercise as I normally do. Can't get out of my funk. I am sure that the hormones from the fat aren't helping!
  4. It is bad for me at work because I am usually doing something else. I need to be more mindful.

    Where to shop?

Oops, you said 12-- that, too!

    Where to shop?

Macy's is great for suits, blazers, etc. for 14/16.

    Coffee?

I did decaf right away with sugar-free creamer and do 1-2 cups regular/day since about 2 months post-op. My biggest splurge!
  8. I want one in about a year. How long have you been at goal and what are his objections? Also wondering if he is overweight?

    New from Chicago

PCOS is all about insulin control. When you drop weight (less fat=less estrogen) and eat high-protein, low-carb, PCOS symptoms get much better! Good luck. I am 38, too, and am all about being healthy by 40.

    Baggy or fitted?

I am a big fan of leggings and dresses. I am in a 14 now and still wear my 18/20 dresses belted. Get a jacket and/ or cardigan to throw over them to dress them up and to stay warm if you are somewhere cold like Ohio is!

    Wtf... Tmi...

All of the period craziness really messes with scale #s, so keep that in mind.

    Wtf... Tmi...

I have PCOS, am 38, have had years with no periods, have been somewhat normal since birth of 2nd kid in 2007... Sleeved in October and crazy periods since... One right after surgery, then skipped a month, now seem ready to start early again.

    When does it get better?

I was sleeved on a Thursday afternoon, felt horrible all weekend, then returned to week following Friday (missed 6 days of work). If you had asked me three days out if I could have gone back that soon, I would not have thought it possible. Days 4-5 were turn-around point for me.
  14. Completely normal. Monitor inches/pant sizes during the stall and they should drop.

    Protein bars!

I have yet to try the famous Quest bars, but I love Pure Protein brand. They are soft, low carb, and you can get them in bulk at Costco.

    Bread

I am about 2.5 months out and the only bread I eat is the multigrain flatbread at Tim Horton's with just egg and cheese. It is only 180 calories and doesn't bother me at all (sometimes I cant eat last few bites).

I find no joy in eating

I love the fact that I quit caring about food. Greatest. Thing. Ever!!!!!

    Food/Supplement Questions for Post Surgery

I have always used tumblers with straws and find I drink a lot more that way. My NUT mentioned at a pre-op that I would need to give them up post-op, but I have not. I find I gulp more when I drink from a water bottle and I have had no issues from straws.
  19. That is how I was, then 12-lb. drop. I seriously did not even lose an ounce for a month. Hang in there!
  20. @@Lauriep and @@amazon -- are you losing sizes/inches?
  21. I have BCBS insurance. I had to have BMI of 35 with co-morbidities (PCOS and sleep apnea). I think I was at 36.7 when I qualified and I was at 34 on the day of surgery with no issues. This was for sleeve surgery, but same concept. I felt reassured after sitting down with the woman at my surgeon's office who submits claims. She was adamant that my initial qualifying BMI would be used. It does seem as different insurance companies have different policies, so you should also check with your specific policy for reassurance. Good luck!

    Too weak for exercise?

I agree on the low blood sugar in your case-- definitely worth checking! I am about 10 weeks out and 41 lbs. down since surgery. I have always been pretty good about exercising, but despite feeling good in general, have had very little energy to feel like it. I also like doing things outside and it is frigid and snowy here in Ohio so that doesn't help either! I want to start with squats, lunges, push-ups, etc. and build up. Good luck on finding your energy!

    Sliming / Throwing Up

Mine is definitely related to how fast I eat! Hasn't happened in about a month as I have figured out to slow down.
  24. When you can school your daughter and her friends at basketball!
  25. After a stall from weeks 4-8 (207.8-- literally even the .8 was the same), I have dropped to 200 this week! So excited for Onederland, but taking a moment to celebrate hitting 200. My HW was 269, SW was 240, GW is 160. Exactly half-way from surgery weight on 10/23/14!
