Future skinny girl

I had surgery on 8/21 and I really haven't lost any weight. Others that had surgery the same day have already lost 10-15 lbs by now. I don't understand. I'm really not eating a lot and I am trying to get all my liquids and protein in. It would be just my luck to fail at this...

Smills the weight will start coming off again. Just be patient. I think my weight will start coming off quicker when I start going to the gym in about 3 more weeks.

Thanks for the advice OutsideMatchinside. I am really struggling with plain water but I make myself drink as much as I can.

⬆️Drink some G2. It is known for breaking stalls. That is what I started drinking and the weight started falling off!

The weight has started falling off finally! I guess I just panicked. Everyone reacts differently to this surgery and I have to keep that in mind. I will stop comparing my journey to others and start focusing on me!

I was trying to delete this but since this site won't let me, I have questions. I have never flown before and I don't know what the airport allows us to have as far as medical devices are concerned. I have to wear knee braces on both my knees and I use a cane to help me walk. Will I be able to take them with me or will I be made to leave these things behind? I will be flying to San Diego next month and I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row lol.

Edavidson I get what you are saying that is why I am going to have a full check up to make sure I am healthy enough to handle my VSG surgery. I am pretty sure I am but there is nothing wrong with me getting confirmation from my PCP. I think everyone should before going through with WLS whether it be in the states or abroad.

I was beginning to think that I would never be able to have the VSG done. After having to re-schedule my surgery twice and then just postponing it due to personal and financial issues; I finally set a date that I can keep! I will definitely be flying to San Diego on August 20th and having surgery in Tijuana August 21st! I prayed real hard about my issues and my prayers were answered. I'm ready to start my new journey.

That made me laugh! I took it for what it is. However some people will get offended because people do make fun of over weight people; not only for being fat, but for making the decision to have WLS. Some people actually get bullied for having WLS. I know you didn't mean any harm but you have to think of others who might not take it so lightly...

Thanks you guys! And yes it was very disappointing to have to re-schedule. I had my hopes up too. Nothing will get in my way this time and I am going to make sure of that! Even if I have to go alone. I can't wait to experience that Southern California/ TJ Mexico weather! The weather in Arkansas sucks. It's always hot and humid or storming in the summer. Ugh!

I agree with you completely! When I first started my research on VSG in Mexico the first company that popped up after I googled was weight loss agents and I found out that their head surgeon is Dr.Almanza so I done more research and looked up YouTube video diaries that some of his patients made and I was completely in aw with all the bad reviews and Horror stories but yet people still book their surgery with him...SMH... Anyway I finally decided to have my surgery through Dr.Elias Ortiz. I am yet to find a bad review about the company or their surgeons. My big Day is May 18, 2015.

I live in Arkansas so the flight will take 5hrs. I talked with my hubby about driving to San Diego because we might not be able to afford both airfares. If we drive it will take like 3 1/2 days. I might save money driving... Anyway good luck with your pre-op diet! I have already started making changes in my diet so that my pre-op diet won't be so bad. I am so happy for you Hun! Congratulations! I am having my surgery through ALM as well! My big day is May 18th and I am excited and nervous at the same time! I've never flew anywhere before. This will be my first time on an airplane. Flying scares me more than anything lol!
