    Kissing the Band Bye-Bye! Yes!!!

Hello, I relate to wanting to take the band out, the acid reflux etc. I was a year banded 1/16/08. I am at 12 or more cc's and I vomit daily. My acid reflux is back I have lost about fifty lbs. but that was within the first 4 months. I began to gain when I had fluid removed. So Now, I have lost 15 lbs in the 2 months since my last fill but sometimes I cant keep water down. I want the gastric sleeve but my dr doesnt do it, he only does the gastric bypass and I dont want that. I went to a new dr. before my year was up and he told me it was too soon and that he just didnt want to do the sleeve, flat out so I dont know what to do because if fluid is removed, then I gain but the vomitting and acid reflux is kicking my butt!
  5. Hi dlollie,

I just had my consultation with Dr. Andre Nunn today.

Do you have any thoughts or concerns about him doing my lapband surgery?

    Thanks.

  6. I had the same concern, I had my surgery 11 days ago and I was soo weak that I could not just get up and excercise, my daily activities tired me out so much but I did notice that after I tried adding unjury Protein to my crystal light I felt a little better. i'm not eating much at either, I have to force myself to eat at. I have the same concern about work also because I work at a psychiatric hospital and you have to be quick on your feet, you don't have time to be weak!! But, as each day passes I feel a little better so hopefully you will also! Best Wishes, Danielle
  7. Before surgery I have always had severe acid reflux, when I ate it always felt like my food stopped somewhere in my chest, which also made it very easy for my food to come back up without any effort by me ( sticking my finger or some other object down my throat) I am 3 days post op and now I feel like I can keep my food down, and I haven't had any acid reflux. I have had it since I was 10.
  8. Thanks, The doctor did my on 1/16/08 and i was told that my hernia was taken care of! I was terrified before surgery!

    Jan. 16th anyone?

Hey chuckles, Thanks for the encouragement, I know from going through this, I do not think that I could have handled the pain from a Rou en Y surgery. I really have to get my mind ready for the changes that are now taking place. I wish you a speedy recovery

    Jan. 16th anyone?

Waking up was okay, the most pain that I felt was gas pain in my back between my shoulder blades, I have pain from the incisions but on a scale of 1-10 the pain from the incisions are a 5 or 6. I went into surgery a 8:30 a and they were finished by 11a and I was sent home the same day. I don't feel like I am ready to go back to work yet. Somone told me that they were at the mall the same day of surgery or the day after, I don't feel like leaving the house yet.

    Jan. 16th anyone?

Hello, My Doctor is Dr Nunn and My surgery is for 1/16/08. Forget nervous, I am flat out scared because this is my second surgery date and I have other concerns just about how business is handled in this office!
  14. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning and i am kind of confused because. I told my Doctor that I had a large hiatal hernia so, I was told that The first thing that they would do is put a greenfield filter inplace to prevent blot clots and I would also have an EGD to look at my Hernia before surgery. I got to the hospital today and had the filter put into place but now the dr is saying that I don't need a EGD, That makes no sense to me because he was not the one to put the filter in and he has not even done an xray. My question is why wouldn't the doctor do an EGD before surgery. I plan on voicing my concerns tomorrow, If he does not do an EGD, then there will be no surgery tomorrow and I will find a new doctor. Does this make sense to anyone out there:confused:
