dadempsey replied to mouse1972rb's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im scheduled for 09/29 sleeve as well. Glad to find a small lil group of people who are going on the same day. i was supposed to start my liquid yesterday and completely forgot as soon as I started eating some Jerky. I bonked myself on the head and am starting today. -

Impatiently waiting...June sleevers?
dadempsey replied to Seahawkgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am hoping to be a June sleever as well. May will be my 6th month, so hopefully, if all goes well, I will be in June. I am excited but have done little for myself to get ready. I am having a mental block on how I should be eating. I keep thinking that I will be restricted after surgery so enjoy now. That is so terrible to think this way. I have to lose 13 lbs and am starting on the 1st to do that. The wait isnt bothering me really, the not knowing if my insurance will approve after jumping through the requirement hoops is what is really hard for me. -

@ccol625- I completely HATE that you have to maintain a heavier weight just got be authorized for this surgery. To me, this surgery represents a last ditch attempt to get my weight under control after trying and failing at so many diets. The money insurance company save by people who have the surgery far outweighs this initial cost. so frustrating -

Makes me sad that you have to fight so hard for your life. You almost start collecting co-morbidities just to get approved. When I started this journey, I would look at my co-morbidities and hope for more just so I did not have to go through all of the disappointments insurance could throw at you. I finally got my 'golden ticket' and developed type 2 diabetes. Do I really want diabetes? Heck no! but for this purpose, yes,I am more secure in having the surgery. Sad but true. -

I am going into month 4 of 6. I am like the rest of you, just want it here and done. I have been working on portion control and trying to feel when I am satisfied instead of full. I dread drinking/eating too much after the sleeve and having that intense full feeling. So, my focus has been on that. I hear you go through the food mourning phase so mentally preparing myself for that. I have narrowed down HOW I got overweight and found it is portions and lack of exercise. I look for that balance. I was told my surgery should be around the end of May. Anyone else? -
Best decision ever

What is everyone NOT going to miss after sleeve?
dadempsey replied to alexsisv's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will not miss feeling so inadequate and like I am worthless. I know I put that on myself. I will not miss being told I have a pretty face and too bad my body doesn't match. I will not miss having to part my boobs at a restaurant when I sit in a booth (Ya'll know what I mean by that!) I will not miss my guy 'reminding me' that I will be 'so healthy' IF I just loose the weight.. (even though I have better blood pressure and cholesterol than he does) I will not miss the 4 different size clothes in my closet. I will not miss pulling my pants up over my belly thinking it keeps everything in. I WILL wear low rise jeans and SHOW cute buttcrack lol. I am with everyone else here.. I MISS my old pre-child body that I had 28 years ago. I WILL show up to my next high school reunion and rock a cute lil black dress. I will ROCK knee high boots and run circles around my blood-pressure pill popin fiance. -
