My Gastric Sleeve Decision
Avhick replied to maddoggmedic's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Apple sauce is becoming my friend too. Hated it before surgery!!!! -
I had my surgery December 29 and I know what you mean by it hasn't been easy. In the beginning I was like what the heck did I get myself into. Things have gotten better much better. Like you I still get tired. However the fatigue is not nearly as bad as it was in the beginning. In the beginning I would get out of breath and tired just from taking a shower. I started the process at 320 the day of surgery I was 292 and I'm now at 269. It's funny because I don't realize the change unless I look in the mirror very quickly. Hope all goes well for everyone I look forward to hearing about the progress

I'm at week four as of today!!!! Things are getting better. I have more energy and do not get out of breath anymore. I'm on the puréed foods again this week. The only God on the puréed diet that I can't seem to handle is eggs. When I eat them I get excessive frothy saliva and my stomach hurts. So eggs have been taken off the menu. So far things seem to be progressing. When I got on the scale today I was down to 271 start weight was 320 and the weight on surgery was 292. I'm starting to notice the physical changes and I'm liking how I look. Hope everyone else is doing well!!!!!!!'

ANYONE NERVES ABOUT SLEEVE?
Avhick replied to MOALAFAM11's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just relax. I was so nervous and almost chose not to do it on the day of my procedure. I'm really glad I did it. Had my procedure December 29. The best advice I can give is relax and think about all the positive changes coming you're way. The biggest thing for me was buying 5oz Dixie cups. That helped me so I didn't over drink in one sitting. Keep us posted on you're progress!!!!!!!! -
I had my surgery December 29. Before I had the surgery I tried everything, and was quite successful on things from Jenny Craig to Slim Fast. The problem was, like you, I gained it all back. That's why I decided to do the weight loss surgery. This is amazing I get full very quickly and as soon as I'm full my desire to eat goes away. This is much different than a diet and I'm sure we'll both be very successful!!!!

Hello Mariah I was in pain after the procedure. The key for me was to stay ahead of the pain ie take the pain medications continuously for the first few days then taper off gradually. That really helped me keep the pain under control. Besides the pain i had really bad fatigue and nausea. Like taking a shower just wore me out. Things will get better hang in there!!!!!!!!
-
@Mariah13. So glad everything went well. Glad you are tolerating things well. I look forward to hearing about you're progress

Had my first post op appointment yesterday. My start weight seven months ago was 320. My weight the day of surgery was 292. My weight at the dr office yesterday was 277. Felt really good. Dr. Said my fatigue is probably caused by a little bit of dehydration. He suggestion I do my fluids plus one liter of pedialite. Other than that he had no concerns and things seem to be progressing well. (: Hope everyone else is doing well!!!!

About two weeks before my procedure I went to Minnisota. While I was there I went into a Sears and bought a belt. When I got the belt back to the hotel to put it on it was too small. However as of today the belt fits. What a good feeling!!!!!!!!

@@Mariah13 hang in there it will happen. At least the surgon had enough Sense not to come to work. If he was sick and did the surgery you could have come down with what he had.
-
@ Mariah13 hang in there. The post op is very difficult. I understand you're feelings of possibly not going through with it. I was the same way. The day of surgery I posted that I wanted to change my mind. In the end I am so glad I did it. You will do excellent. I look forward to hearing about you're progress were all here rooting for you!!!!!!

Hello Onward thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. It's been about 11 days since surgery. Initially I tired really easy got majorly fatigued. The fatigue is still there but I'm able to shake it off after a little rest. I started eating puréed soup and yougert this week. So far I'm tolerating things well. Now doing about 60g of protien a day. Plus getting in my liquids. Since I've started taking my iron supplement my hands no longer feel like they are ice cold. When my dad came home yesterday he says wow you're starting to change. I was happy about that because I noticed I'm starting to lose some weight. I things will be good once the fatigue stops. Best wishes to all enjoy learning about everyone's progress!!!!

Last week this time I was in the hospital from being sleeved. I've made a lot of improvements. I'm feeling lucky that I've had no vomiting. Each day is getting a little easier. I've gone from taking pain meds from two to three times a day to once. For some reason at night I get some pain. Have severe back and blue bruising on the left side of my stomach. I've been able to do more a little bit each day. Just get very tired when my body says enough is enough. Hope all the December sleevers are doing well. Hope all the january sleevers are getting ready!!!!!!! Best wishes to all

Feeling Nervous, January 7 is the day
Avhick replied to Doingitformeandmyloves's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had my surgery December 29 and there is no way I could have gone back monday. It's taking me a little slower to recover/adapt from the surgery and I'm 35. However adjusting to the new lifestyle is a little more difficult than recovering from the procedure itself. I plan to go back to work on the 26 of Jan. Good luck wishing you the best -

Thank you everyone for you're responce. The term baby food consistency was very helpful. Bobbyswife thanks for the sharing of experience I was beginning to think there was something wrong.

I had my Barriatric sleeve surgery on Monday. I am going up and down to feeling great and then when I do too much i crash. My hands have also been very cold. I'm assuming this is normal because I've had a change in dietary change. But starting tomorrow I'm able to go on puréed soup and yogurt. What is purred soup? Is it just like a cambells soup or is there a different brand?? I can't have meat or noodles in the soup and the instructions are non creamed soup.

When I started my journey six months ago I was 320. Day of surgery i was 292. Today I weighed myself and I'm 284.

Jnflud I am doing well. I was sent home from the hospital yesterday. It was a two hour ride home and was rough because they loaded me up on pain and Nautious meds for my ride home. I felt woozy the whole ride. I'm taking the pain meds about two times a day. The same with the Nautious meds. It's getting easier for me to drink but it still is a little difficult, but it's much easier then yesterday. Been able to keep everything down, so I'm thinking I'm doing a good job of listening to my body. Hopefully within the next few days the pain will be gone all together. Hope everyone is doing well and Happy New Year!!!!

I had mine on Monday. When I woke up I had major pain in my stomach. Also whenever I got up I was Nautious and couldn't stop sweating. I'm day four post op and still have some pain but drinking isn't nearly as difficult. Hang in there
