Greetings.  My name is Mike and I made the decision to do this about a year ago.  However, at the time, there wasn't any time to have the surgery, so I had to wait.  I was a stay at home dad for the past 5.5 years and went back to teaching this fall in August, and this is when I began my journey for surgery.  When I began the process I was 365 lbs and just wasn't feeling good at all.  I have a 6 year old and want to be around for he and my wife for a long while.  I began working and being more active and lost 10 pounds prior to the start of the two week smoothie process to shrink the liver in the beginning of December and lost 30 more pounds.  I stopped my caffene cold turkey and stopped eating regular foods on a Wednesday, and the very next morning began the smoothie diet.  I am dedicated to this and can't wait for the outcome.  I had surgery on December 17th, and am 5 days out now.  I had great doctors, a phenomenal surgeon, and terrific hospital and staff.  I am going through the hardest part right now on the full liquid diet, but will soon be onto the next stage when I go back to working with my students.  Water intake is the hardest for me, but I have to remember to get as much of it as possible, but then remember to not eat for an hour after.  I'm beginning to have hunger cravings, but not sure if it's mental or real, because of my family eating around me.  Tonight I started greek yogurt and will see how I do through the night on it.  I have been sticking to broths and jello only, which is getting tiring, but it's what I have to do for the next 5 days.  Everything according to the doctor's office is a two week process, per types of diet.  Any more info I think of I'll post or please feel free to ask.
