  1. So after my six month wait, I was approved by BCBS in just a week!!! Thanks for all the prayers and good vibes sent my way. So now I just have to go to the Begin class and then I find out my surgery date! Woot!
  2. Final weigh-in for my six months medically supervised attempt at weight loss!! Now the insurance liaison just has to send my medical info over to BCBS for approval, which can take up to 30 days...getting excited, but not gonna do backflips until I get the official approval from BCBS!!! Pray for me guys and send me luck!!!
  3. I'll be finished with my six month doctor supervised weight loss appointments on April 17, which I have not lost any weight, but not without trying. However, that is the reason I need the sleeve, I have no proplem adhering to a diet, the problem is I never lose weight. When I step up exercising, I will actually gain weight...which yeah I know is muscle, but it is very discouraging. So, pleade, everyone pray I get approved for sometime in May. I am praying everyone gets their approval asap!
  4. Thanks guys! You guys are really helping me to feel better!
  5. So i am on my six month physician monitored diet program. Which is technically seven visits consisting of 280 days. I have a bmi of around 39 but with a required comorbidity of hypertension. ... im on visit four. ...my insurance liaison says it shouldnt be a problem being approved. However, things usually never work out in my favor.... I want this sooooo bad.....I just need some encouragement from those who have been there and prayers that it will be approved.....I am sick and tired of being miserable and sick and tired.....I need positive vibes sent in my direction.....okay ...done with my freak out/pity party!
  6. Thanks guys! Keep them coming!
  7. Duh not 280 days 180 days!!! Curses my fat fingers!!! Lol
  8. Fellow Angels, as I said earlier, there are bad apples (nurses) but dont let it ruin the entire bunch. I work with really great group of girls, nurses, techs and secretaries all together. We do care about our patients, we may not tell them what they want to hear, as in " no, you can't have another dose of dilaudid, phenergan and benadryl two hours early, " I like my patients still breathing. But I guess it is where you work. People dont leave the unit I work in until they retire or move away. Have I heard stories of bad nurses? Yep. Have I heard stories of good nurses? Yep. Thankfully more good than the bad stories. Does it make me feel great for my patients to like me? If it didn't I think I would need a new career. Am I perfect? Not a chance. ...lol..... So just like people there are good and there are bad and the ones in-between. ...
  9. bwahaha! I personally use my devil horns to hold up my slightly tarnished halo....evil grin....; o)
  10. Uhmmm, kay. Well, @Cococat hopefully the individual who you believe stole your Latisse is also too stupid to know that without continued usage, their lashes will fall out. **** agreed not mention the eeew factor for using something that had been on some elses's eyes Btw, individuals without a moral compass can be found on every job; this has nothing to do with nurses. A thief is a thief and in the hospitals I've worked in, there are always a multitude of people going in and out of patients' rooms. If you know the thief, identify him or her and file a formal complaint with the hospital. I agree here as well, there had been a rash of things being stolen from patients rooms...well guess who caught them? Me! The evil lazy nurse...some of the house keeping crew were the culprits. And I also went out of my way to help ensure all of the stolen property Made its way back to the proper owners..if you know who the thief. Is then point it out. I really do want to help my patients and I hope they like and respect me as well once again. I hope everyone has an excellent experience as we journey down this road together
  11. As a fellow RN, I must agree with bittersweet, about the above comment about 'putting the fear of God' into nurses by taking down names and saying you're writing an article. You would likely have better luck by showing appreciation of the staff, kind of like the old saying you can attract more flies with honey instead of vinegar. Every nurse I know treat everyone the same; we don't care if you are a so-call" VIP "patient or a homeless person, you get the same care. I treat my patients well because i enjoy my profession and like to help people. I am sure there are some bad apples but dont let that color the perception of all nurses. I have similar advice as bittersweet: Ask questions, There is no stupid question except for the unasked one. Even write down questions as you think of them, so you wont forget them. If something seems wrong, ask, I promise we don't mind explaining why something is the way it is or why we are doing something. If you need something ask, we are not mind readers, if at all possible we will try to get it or make it happen. Ask for pain medication before it gets excruciating. When it is time to ambulate, suck it up and do it, it may hurt like a bitch at first, but the more you do it, the better you will feel. Follow your pre and post surgical instructions to the letter. I hope everyone has an excellent experience and have an awesome staff to take care of them. Good luck to everyone on your weightloss journey. I am on my six month pre-qualifing-doctor- monitored-diet phase, so I am on the journey as well.
