I didn't have much pain, my pain was gas pains. i would think it is fine. Glad you are doing so well!

Ah, all the answers to child rearing that we have always been lacking...

you guys are so stuck on yourselves. you can't call the shots for everyone. I would give ANYTHING to see how you would handle a problem child, one that is used to manipulating the adults and one that will smile at your face and agree with you and as soon as you turn your back do everything you told them not to do. I was willing to go halfway to say that I'm not always right, and my way is not the only way. THAT, Brandy, is why I think you are full of hot air. It may be a law in other countries that you can't spank. There are also laws in other countries that allow you to smoke marijuana. Just because it is a law somewhere doesn't validate your opinion as the right way and the only way. I knew there was a good reason I stopped posting on this thread.

In all honesty, I admire that you have passion for what you believe. My problem is not with your passion, but with your insinuation that your way is the right way, and the only way. I agree that there are advantages on both sides and abuse on both sides. I'm really not angry at you or your opinion. I'd just like some acknowledgement that spanking is not automatically abuse and not all parents who spank are abusers.

I didn't see anything caustic with what she said. I agree with what she said. I did see you being condescending and acting like she has to be wrong, and you have to be right.

and, its not that I'm angry either. You expressed a little anger yourself at meatballs mom. I felt like she needed some support. If you can raise your children without spanking then that is good. But, if spanking is needed, that shouldn't automatically make the parent bad.

But, its time to mind your own business and let others take responsbility for how they choose to raise their own children. Hey Everyone. For some reason, my account stopped sending me the updates to the thread, and today was the first one I received and had to read THREE pages of posts to catch up! I didn't realize I had not posted in so long! SO glad to hear of the victories along the way and welcome to all the new people! Things at work have been hectic and will continue that way for at least two weeks because of a couple of big meetings I have to prepare for, but all of you are in my thoughts and prayers!!!

YES, I agree. How much weight are you looking to lose? I know, my biggest deterrant has been the lack of exercise. If I could get myself motivated to start, I'm sure I would lose faster. I've lost 35 pounds since December 4th.

I would think it is normal. I was really worried about mine, but about six weeks after surgery, the swelling went down. It did stay a little inflamed. I went at 3 weeks and had them check it, they gave me an antibiotic because it seemed a little inflamed. Now, I never even hardly realize it is there. Seems weird because it was so prevalent right after surgery I thought it would always bother me.

WELCOME to the new posters ... Diamond, your surgery date is approaching FAST. Will be praying for you. Wombat, you give good advice... I too am struggling with the diet coke issue. I have heard so many conflicting things about whether you can drink it again or not. I've about come to the conclusion that it's all guesswork. I think it can cause problems, but not sure that it always causes problems (dilation of the pouch ???). I've tried small amounts, a cup at a time. so far have not had any problems with it but haven't drank a lot.

that's actually something i've never done, sorry, don't know the answer.

Hey Everyone, i know i've been out of touch for a few days. i lost control of my computer to my kids! Answer a few days back to talkinjack, i think these amounts of fills are regular for my doctor. i have a band that takes lots to fill. he prefers that band. he says he tries to fill it during the first three months, that is the amount of fills that come with the surgery. After that, it had to be resubmitted. I feel like i am doing ok, but still eat more at a meal than i should. WELCOME to all the new folks! And, glad the recent surgeries have went well!!! We are in GOOD hands!

I do love my band, (even with the three pound gain). I know the gain is because I'm not following the rules like I should. No one to blame but myself. I NEED TO MAKE MYSELF START EXERCISING! I know that is holiding me back. But, I do feel a big difference than from before I was banded.

i posted a reply, but the page would not load afterwards. if I posted this twice, please ignore! I get the hiccups quite frequently now, especially when I overeat. There is a gland called the vagus nerve that travels down the back of the throat into the stomach area. Also gives a tickling feeling in the nose or makes you sneeze. look it up online, it is quite interesting. GLAD ALL IS WELL!
