    Slow Losers Unite!

I can relate to a lot of the things you are going through. I'm in a marriage that is a joke. He's been sleeping on the couch for over a year now. I'm in bankruptcy and my car just died on me and I can't get a car financed and have no savings to fall back on. I keep waiting for things to 'go my way' but so far, nothing!!! All I can say is, "IT CAN'T GET MUCH WORSE" so we only have better things to look out for!!!

    December Post-Op Thread

I'm having a problem, but it's after my second fill. Like you though, I am not complaining because it is keeping me from overeating. I find that I have to take REALLY REALLY small bites, and try not to eat so fast. It's making me recheck what I'm eating. I hope it will lead to faster weight loss -- we'll see!

    Slow Losers Unite!

Hey, I'm back. I posted once and then kind of lost the thread. I've done pretty good this week, I can tell a big difference since my last fill. It's staying with me, unlike the first one. I can tell its working because a lot of things are getting stuck in my throat now. I have GOT to learn how to take smaller bites and eat slower! I can't tell about any difference in my weight yet, it keeps fluctuating. I also need a decent scale to weigh on. I also can't wait for the weather to warm up. That's been my excuse to myself as to why I haven't been working out. Spring's a coming, we'll see then ...

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY

Hey, my email box was marking my lapband mails as spam, so I didn't reply to some posts. So, I'm just now finding this thread to check back on. I've had my second fill now since 1/24, and I must say, I feel much more restriction. I'm getting a lot of food that sticks in my throat, especially chicken, and I'm not used to taking small enough bites or eating slowly enough. My first fill only lasted around 10 days, so this one feels much more stronger at day 10. I have my next appt. on Feb. 28. Not sure if I'll need that much of a fill then. Will wait and see how I feel when the time comes and see if I start losing more weight now than only 1 pound per week.

    December Surgery Dates

I don't really know. I just know that bc/bs ppo covers mine for now. I haven't been told of any limitations, and was even told for the first 90 days that I didn't even have to pay a copay. My 90 period will be up but I have one more appointment before then. I guess I'll find out after that.

    December Surgery Dates

I've had my second fill and feel about like Kelly. I can't eat meats the way I'd like to. Hot wings is one of my favorites. They always get stuck in my throat now, 11 days out from my second fill. I'm not complaining though because this is what I wanted -- A limitation on what I could eat. My willpower is not good. So, I've decided to back away from chicken until I can teach myself how to eat it properly by eating smaller bites and slowing down. I found a recipe on another website for a cottage cheese omelet, which I am having for breakfast this morning and a little bacon, which I can eat. This is my first time of trying it. So, just figure out what you can eat. Tilapia is really good. I like that. I've also grown to love creamed spinach, which I have quite frequently.

Hey everyone, Phyllser, great pics! I hope I look as good when I start losing like you have, and 2bmeagain, try the new hairstyle, hair grows back pretty fast. You might be surprised. coolrn - sorry you're feeling down, but you'll soon be doing better, I know lots of prayers go up from this site. Jaunderwood, GLAD TO HEAR OF YOUR SURGERY DATE! See how prayers work? And, yes, we can be so wasteful at times, but we are truly blessed. Glad to hear from everyone.

Hey Jackie and missionary, glad to have you with us. And, Wombat, those are the same pictures I saw on the other page. Not sure what page it even was. It would be nice to see a pic of some of the others too, (hint hint)...

Hi everyone. Step of faith, I went on a couple of eating binges in between knowing I would have the surgery and the final countdown after the date is set. I was so afraid of the liquids phase, but I actually did allright. Because I have someone looking out for me. And, Holy Cow, when was your surgery? I'm losing a little slow, and was hoping that I would have done better, but my dr. told me last week a pound a week was good and I was on track. I'd RATHER have two pounds a week, but I'm not really excercising and could be cutting back more on calories.

Hey, glad everything went well, joyross. I remember about four years ago we had a convention (work related) in Las Vegas. One of the ladies decided to drive. She and her husband were driving on a long flat road, no cars in site. She said she just got a feeling that God was telling her to be careful. She told her husband. Out of nowhere a car came speeding towards them, crossing over to their side of the road and fortunately, they swerved over, but came back ok. The other car did not. The car that was heading for them ran off the road and the driver was killed. God can do amazing things, and no one gets to know about them. so, Joyross, God will be looking out for His own. Take care. And, Wombat -- saw your pics the other day on the before and after page -- you really looked good, big change! And, nice to see a face to go with the name.

Hey everyone, checking in for the night. And, the pizza idea sounds good to me too. I have eaten one piece, but it kept getting stuck in my throat. I wasn't taking little enough bites. That seems to be something I do too often. I'm learning to do better though. And, thanks so much for the prayers. I will let you guys know when I hear something new.

will be praying for all of you. Don't know why it is so hard to wait on something! but, I know you can drive yourself crazy thinking about all the things that can go wrong. Just try to remember, Matthew chapter 6:25-26 25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"

Yes, I pray Joyross that the Lord will keep His hand on you and your surgeons and that everything will go according to His plan. And, update on my friend with Leukemia -- at first the doctors said she had the worst kind and basically gave her a death sentence. Now they've ran more tests and say that she has the curable kind, and she has responded positively to her medicines this week. She went in the hospital on Wed. THANKS to everyone for your prayers and support for Patti.

    STARVING after 1st fill!

After my surgery, I was super hungry. After my first fill, I needed less to get me full, but still felt pretty hungry. Had my second fill thursday, and so far I'm doing really well. Not hungry and not eating much. When I do I really have to chew small bites and eat slowly. I can feel it MUCH more now.

one more thing, to Dedria, it is wonderful that you are trying to help others. I know my sister's insurance wouldn't approve her. Do you have any suggestions? I told her I thought she should write the insurance company and appeal it and write all her medical conditions. She is still very young and a heart attack survivor. She has gained so much weight since her attacks. She really needed the surgery more than I did, but my insurance approved me with no problem. Hers didn't.

Hey girls, glad to see the new names. Stepoffaith, GREAT NEWS. Glad your progress is moving along. And Jaunderwood, good luck in yours moving along too. Will be praying for you guys. I had my second fill yesterday, and I've been so full since. My doctor is so good to give such aggressive fills. Here it is so soon after my surgery and I'm allready up to 6 cc's. I'm definitely feeling restriction this time. I just hope it stays with me and doesn't loosen up like the first one did. I've been getting food stuck in my chest/throat all day today. Am learning to take littler bites and chew them much more. I'm finally feeling like my band is doing what it is supposed to do now. maybe now I'll start showing better progress on my ticker ... night all.

    First Fill...Soooo Confused...Help.

I had surgery on Dec. 4th. I didn't feel any fullness. I stayed very hungry until I had my first fill. The fill was not painful. It was a little uncomfortable at first, He was feeling of it under my skin to determine where to put the needle in. He gave me a shot of lidocaine first to numb me. It was a slight stick, but nothing I couldn't handle. Then when he stuck the bigger needle in for the fill, he just injected the saline solution in. I could feel him doing things but it wasn't that painful. Just slightly uncomfortable. For about 10 days I was eating lighter. I had been very hungry since my surgery and the fill helped. I went from eating about half of what my old portions were to eating about 2 to 2 1/2 cups of food. But, after about 10 days I started wanting larger amounts. I had my second fill yesterday. NOW I have what the first person talked about, having a lump in my throat. I'm finding that it comes from not taking small enough bites and chewing enough, or if I try to eat too fast. It's been a day now, and several times when I have eaten I've had a hard time swallowing. It's not something I can't handle. I believe this is where i need to be for now. I haven't been losing very much and I give in too easy to my cravings. so, now I feel like I have more control. Since I can only take smaller bites, I don't want as much. I know things get stuck in my chest easily so I will be more cautious. I don't feel as hungry either. I hope this helps answer some questions for you.

Hi Eileen, THANK you so much for your prayers. And, welcome to Ladyroz. will be praying for you, jaunderwood. I also have an urgent prayer request. A lady from my church (who is a very sweet and very giving person) just found out two days ago that she has the worst kind of leukemia. She was admitted into the hospital yesterday to start chemo. Her name is Patti Hinton. PLEASE be praying for her. Thank you all for all your love and care.

    Slow Losers Unite!

Hi there. I think I should be a part of this group too. I've only lost 10 pounds since my surgery. Most of mine came before my surgery during the liquid preop. Since the surgery, I feel pretty discouraged. I go in for my second fill thursday, hopefully things will pick up a bit. I certainly hope so.
  25. some people really have some nerve! People who are offended because we profess Christianity in my opinion must feel unsure of their own beliefs. If not, then why does it bother them so badly? It shouldn't be any different than if I were to say, "I'm gay." Would you then want me to only post on the gay/lesbian forum? I'm tired of being bashed and criticized.
