    Slow Losers Unite!

Hi Joeboo, My advice? maybe try going on a week of liquids and start over, and make yourself do something physical, even if its walking the stairs at work or parking farther away so you have to walk farther to get to your car. Do you track your calorie intake? that might help as well. Just knowing you need to do something is a start. The good thing is you still have the band so you can make it work for you. You already admitted that you're eating less. And, even if you haven't lost, you aren't gaining.

Hey everyone, glad to see more new people! We're growing! that's encouraging in itself. Plus, whether your goal is too much or not enough, what matters is that is where you want to be. If you reach that goal you may decide to go for more. Whatever we lose, each pound is a victory, its one more pound less you are carrying around.

congratulations on the new grandbaby! babies are such a blessing. they are so innocent and have so much love. No wonder God wants us to come to him as little babes. You will do much better after you get a fill. It took my second fill before I started feeling a real difference, but I can tell it now. Wish you well.

yes, I am content that at least I am losing, even if it is averaging 1 pound a week. I had hoped for faster weight loss when I first had the surgery, but I can see some difference now. Just imagine how many calories I was eating before getting banded? I guess I am fortunate that I didnt' gain more weight than I did with my eating habits the way they were! It didn't all get on me overnight and it won't go away overnight, but at least we have options now!

    Anyone from Georgia ??

it is nice to spend just so little and enjoy it so much! Another thing I would do when I was on liquids would be go to the chinese place and get won ton soup with no wontons. The girl only charged me half price and it got me through a tough time. A friend of mine dubbed it "Nonton Soup".

Welcome Patti cake, and 2bemeagain, glad everything is well with your husband. Wombat -- just hang in there baby, you will do fine. Just be glad you weren't the one let go. Better to have too much work than NONE. Smilin apple, not sure if you can handle this, but tuna has a good bit of Protein too. Sometimes i have tuna with a spoon of mayonnaise. but, if you can't drink a Protein shake, you might not be able to handle the tuna either. I just have to work in whatever I'm eating really really slow. I can sure tell a difference since my last fill. I go back in on the 28th, but I'm wondering if I even need another fill. I also tried some bacon one morning that went down really well. I guess since it was crunchy it didn't ball up and get hung in my throat.

I can relate. I have to keep my distance from the treats too. My daughter bought a box of famous amos cookies. and, since my last fill almost everything I eat gets hung in my throat, but of course, not cookies. I can eat them just fine. Ate way too many of course. It would be so much easier if you didn't have to know it was there. But, willpower has never been a strongpoint for me.

Hey Everyone, I have a really good praise report! I had bought a new dress right after my surgery that I had hoped to get into by Christmas. It was pretty tight, especially around the stomach area. Well, Christmas came and went, but was not able to get into the dress. Well, I'm wearing it today, and it is actually loose around the stomach! Glad to be seeing some results here!

yes, I remember my first day on the mushie stage. I remember having a scrambled egg, and HOW GOOD IT WAS. I think I ate eggs like three days in a row after that! If you're out on the go, pintos and cheese at taco bell are pretty good.

I agree with you Doddie, "the thought of eating more turns you off". I'm getting to that stage. tonight, I only picked at my supper, then put the plate in the floor for the dog to finish off. That is a RARITY. But, things keep getting hung up because I try to eat too fast and don't chew small enough, and its making me choose not to eat rather than to fight with trying to gorge myself like I have gotten so used to over the years. Hopefully this will continue. After all, that's why I had surgery in the first place.

Welcome stilljackson. Yes, God provides many things for us. So, are you covered on insurance or self pay? I know when I found out my insurance would pay, I thanked God for providing a way for me to finally get some of my weight off!

You are still improving on what you would have had before the band. You are not fooling yourself. It will work! Just think of the calorie difference in what you eat now vs. what you ate before! The weight didn't go on overnight, it won't go away overnight, but we're on the right track!

Hey Smilin Apple. What an ordeal with that second fill! But, as you can see from your first one, each fill can be totally different. Now I'm curious as to what #3 will be like. You've done really good on the weight loss. You're down almost 50 pounds! And, good morning to all of you here at the site. It is supposed to be a beautiful day today, going to enjoy it!

I know, I'm sure I'm eating less since my last fill, but I'm not seeing the scale go down. I need a new scale anyway, even though this one is not old. I need a digital one so it does not fluctuate. This one has the pointer bouncing all over the place and it will give you two different readings, one right after the other.

Hey 4giveN, nice to have you with us, and once you get started on the liquid phase it isn't so bad. It's more fear leading up to it than going through it. And, Jaunderwood, good to hear you're on your way too! And, YES, this site is addictive!

Yes, more restriction DOES help. I just basically looked at my lunch today and got full. I just hope it sticks with me this time. I seem to be hungrier though at night and have to resist the urge to go and munch. I've been eating key lime pie yogurt from yoplait. It is a pretty good dessert.

I also go on obesityhelp.com I searched the name finley and got 1 patient feedback, and also found another patient of dr. finleys. Maybe you could go on there too and do the search and then email some of those people and find out what they think of Dr. Finley. I used Dr. Scott Davis at the same facility. I have been very happy with him. this is what my search turned out: Colleen Dickens Jonesboro, GA</SPAN> I liked Dr Finley from the first. He took the time to talk with me himself and explained the process that I would go through from that day and for the next few years. He said that we would have a ongoing partnership, because this process did not end once the surgery was complete. He explained to me the risks of each type of gastric surgery and gave me the recommendation on what he felt would work best for me. I look forward to working with him and his staff throughout the process. Posted on 02/05/2008 and, this is the other person who had dr. finley listed, you can search for them on obesityhelp.com and then ask them about dr. finley (user ID) Angensam Atlanta, GA Charles Finley (01/30/08) Member Since: 01/26/08

I do have a good doctor, and he does give a good fill amount. I notice there are some people who go through 5-7 fills and still don't have as much for fills as I do.

Yeah, I was watching some commercial last night, and the girl is saying, "Every girl likes to get chocolates", and I'm thinking, "You got that right". But, we WILL make it through valentines day ...

And, the Key lime pie flavor is a really good dessert. It's like key lime pudding! Very tasty.
