Hey Diamond, I am praying right now for God to keep His arms around you as you continue through the process. And, we all know if He is for you, who can be against you? I'm noticing a difference now in my weight. I stayed stuck for a while there, but now I am seeing the scales go down! I'm also seeing a big difference in what I'm eating. I'm not doing too well with meats, I force them down, but they are not always comfortable. I'm eating more yogurt and spinach and taco bell's pintos and cheese. Can still handle salad ok. Drinking protien shakes and eating Protein bars for my snack. I'm having to remind myself its snack time, don't feel hungry that much either. I'm trying to eat five small times a day to boost my metabolism. I surely can tell a big difference since my last fill. When I go back at the end of this month, I am sure that I will tell the doctor I don't need any more fills for now. I am happy where I am. It is a little dissapointing not to be able to eat meat like I used to, but this is what I asked for, and I am so thankful to finally be seeing the results I wanted. Now if I could just make myself start excercising!!! That's what I need prayer for! thanks everyone. Hope you all have a good day and a good weekend!

hey, that's good to have lost 15 pounds on your own! But, the incentive is there knowing that you want to get the band so bad. I was also surprised that I did as well on my own too. But, if I hadn't been working towards my band, I'm not sure if I could have done it. 4jin - YES, pretty day for a walk. Just wish I didn't have so far a drive every day, then I wouldn't be so lazy when I get home! atlspeedy, how did the visit go last week with dr. davis???

Hi Everyone, Wanted to share my success. I feel like I've hit my sweet spot since my last fill last week. I am up to 7cc's in my 10cc vanguard band. I am not feeling hungry at all and am able to resist the little temptations MUCH better than I could before the fill. Hope everyone is doing well today.

Hey, I have a harder time at night with wanting to eat too. I do much better in the mornings. But, since my last fill last week I've noticed a BIG difference. I have 7cc's now in a 10cc and I think I may be at my sweet spot. I had two slimfast shakes and a bbq sandwich yesterday. That was all. Today I bought some slimfast protien bars that are 110 calories, 5g protein, just had one of those and was feeling full before I finished it.

Just be careful and don't overdo it. If you start to feel overrestricted, stick to liquids and soup or something until you can get to the doctor. I go in tomorrow for my third fill and am debating on whether I need it or not. I may find myself in a similar situation.
-
well, I hope I'm gone by 4, but was just wondering if I would run into you in the waiting room.
-
that's great, I also have an appointment with Dr. Davis for a fill tomorrow at 12:30. What time is your appt?

How old is your son? I just read an article online last week about a breakthrough with a girl who is autistic but able to communicate through a computer. It was very interesting and an insight as to how the children feel. Did you see it?

I got a few people at church who had a few questions, but mostly, EVERYONE was encouraging and supportive. My pastor even calls me sister skinny now, (even though I'm nowhere NEAR skinny yet!). No one from church has been negative.

Hey, good idea - the duct tape works for me! (lol)

I attempted the 5 day pouch test starting yesterday. I did ok until last night, and ended up eating something instead of the liquid shakes. so, I didn't do so well. I seem to be hungrier at night. I can take the liquids during the day, but the evening hours are worse on my cravings.

WELCOME ALL! It's nice to know you have a place to go to where you feel welcomed!

I would recommend my Dr., Scott Davis. He is at the same office as Dr. Lin. He is very knowledgeable and did an excellent job. He looks rather young but has experience and has been teaching others because he always has someone coming in with him to watch and learn when I go in for my fills, and had interns watching during the surgery.

I was looking at the 5 day pouch test. I think I may try it. I'm afraid I'm stuck where I am, and I think I'm eating more, not because I'm hungry but because of habit and cravings. This might help me get a better prespective on this and maybe get back on track. speaking of tracks, I'm going to go walk at least a mile at the track too. I have to do something here!

VERY INTERESTING - Vagus Nerve Stimulation, I've found several articles now about it. Thanks for the info, Band Chik. There is a definite link between tickling / runny nose and the nerve that sends the signal to the brain that you are full.
-
I'm REALLY curious now, as to how being full has ANYTHING to do with the sinuses??? If I eat too big of a bite or get something hung in my throat, it will do that too. My husband laughed at me when I told him it made my nose twitch.
-
I'm glad to see someone else mention getting too full affecting the nose. I have felt a tickling sensation and almost feel like I have to sneeze.

My gym is 25 miles from my house ... don't think I'll be walking halfway there! and no stairs in my house. but there is a track down the street at the school. I have went there and walked before. Should go ahead and at least go back there. I would walk 1 1/2 miles on the treadmill and would do 6 laps each time I went to the track equalling the same distance. Has been too long. I need to get off my butt and go! and, on the days of our lives thing ... I record it and watch it every day. My mom used to watch it when I was little and I got into it then. My family makes fun of the show, but I've been watching it for a LONG time. and, yes, you do get so familiar with the characters!
-
my soap is days of our lives, and I love the gym too. Just cant seem to get myself there, all these obstacles keep getting in the way, I'm hoping to overcome this latest hurdle in the next week (getting another car, mine is losing its transmission). So, once I get my transportation worked out, hopefully I will get to the gym and hopefully jumpstart my metabolism and get the scales moving!!!

it does feel good to know we all share something, and that whatever comes our way, we're not going through it alone!
-
Welcome to all the new people, and good luck to you guys getting ready for surgery!

it gets discouraging when people ask me how much weight I have lost and it hasn't been that much. I have gotten where I don't say, "I've lost xxx pounds", I will tell them that I'm eating a lot less now and can tell a big difference in my clothes. and, I too am a fast eater and it has not been easy trying to SLOW IT DOWN.
-
Another thing I've been eating a lot of is creamed spinach. It is easy to fix and very filling. I've been craving it!
-
Oh my, 2bmeagain, how wonderful that everyone is okay! I'm sure that was a very scary ordeal. I know you are so thankful that your family is ok.
