He's just seeing the new you emerge, and it's probably a little intimidating to him. Men are insecure, but don't want to admit it. You just need to give him a little extra TLC and make sure he knows how you feel about him. At the same time, I would still continue with my own personal goals for weight loss. You just need to reassure him that you are doing this for YOU and not for someone else. He will come around.

Oh, I'm well aware of antagonistic people. That is what brought me to this thread. I had posted on a thread when someone had commented that they were afraid of dying on the table. I wrote back and said that I felt that our time was set by God and if it was our time to go it wouldn't matter if it was surgery or not. I was jumped on by another poster who said I offended her, along with another attack on another person who also had mentioned having faith in God during this time. In my distraught, I was led to this site where I could OPENLY express my opinions and share my faith and beliefs. I LOVE it here. Welcome to ALL! And, Living, what a BEAUTIFUL attitude. My surgery got cancelled for a week and I was rebellious. I went out and ate at applebees in rebellion, when I was supposed to be on a liquid diet!!! It's not always easy to have such a good outlook as you have. You are a blessing! Take care all, and glad to hear from those who haven't been on in a while!

If I could afford it, I would definitely do it. Even though you have the band, there are still times a little help and encouragement would help me stay on track. The band might help with the physical eating limitations, but the "head" part is still hard. Seems like this would help with some of the psycological issues.

Friday will be over before you know it! The worst is the gas pains. Besides that, just take it easy for a couple of days.

Welcome Morgan, and I agree Brenda, this is one of the few places I check every day. And, Susan, will have you in my prayers! I know you all, like me, are thankful that God provided a way for us to start losing weight instead of gaining!!! I know I love having a place of refuge and support. Not everyone understands the journey we are undertaking and not everyone understands the struggle that we go through on a daily basis. I'm glad to have somewhere to belong.

I'm good at over-doing things too ... telll me some about the fibromyalgia. I've heard of it but don't really know that much about it. 46 pounds sounds like a good bit. I know you are really glad to be able to say you've lost that much, even if you do consider yourself a turtle!

Hey Everyone, and 2bemeagain, I am still here! Have been slightly down since the last dr. visit. Insurance had covered my fills for the first three months, but the next visit, they wanted me to pay cash and I was not expecting it. I've been so happy with my dr. but I felt a little let down that they didn't prepare me for after the first three months. They did submit it and insurance did approve. But, I've been kind of keeping to myself since then. It was a bit of a letdown. I wasn't sure that insurance would approve, and I didn't know what I would do. It really makes me sympathize with all of you who are self pay. I praise God that He provided a way through my insurance. And, Gina,I will be praying for your cousin Andrew and his family. I know this has to be tough on him. Such a happy time with the birth of a baby girl, and yet such a troubled time to be dealing with the lymphoma. But, we do not get to choose our path, we can only trust God to bring us through what He's brought us to. Take care everyone. stepoffaith, where are you????????????????????

    Slow Losers Unite!

I've been back to the thrift store. I have on a new dress today that cost me $4.29. And, it really looks good on me and you can tell that I've lost 29 pounds. So Cassie, YES, 21 pounds is great! Even though you want to lose faster, (I did too) it doesn't seem like much from week to week, but in total, just think of how many years it has been since you could say, "I lost 21 pounds". I agree with Doddie, most of the time, it is a GAIN of weight. Since I've gotten the band, at least it is going DOWN. Be proud of that 21 pounds, that is quite an accomplishment. And, 6 months from now, you will have an even greater # of pounds to be rid of. Just be patient, it may be going slow, but at least its GOING!

Remember last week when I was so upset because my doctor didn't inform me about what to do after three months on my fills? Found out today that I WAS APPROVED by insurance. They will cover me from April 2008 - March 2009 for any fills / dr. visits and all I have to pay is my $15 copay. THANKS for all the encouragements and well wishes and support!!!

NJ girl - just listen to yourself giving advice!!! You are doing SO well. You've come a long way from a couple of weeks ago!!! I think you chose the right dress. Can't wait to see the new pics you will post after the wedding!!! I know you will look AWESOME!

Welcome to all the new ones. NJ gal, I was a little confused. I'm not sure which dress you decided on. With ruffles or without ruffles?

    Anyone from Georgia ??

Hey UGA Girl, I've learned with the more fills and more restriction, I get more stuck episodes. I've learned to cut up my meats into small bite sized pieces and that really helps me a lot. I guess I'm biting off bigger bites without realizing it. It makes a difference!

for denise - I LOVE shopping at thrift stores too! My budget is really tight and doesn't leave a lot of room for shopping. Thrift stores are perfect. And, the dress I leave with is new to me! NJ gal - Both dresses are SO pretty. But, I personally favor the one without the ruffles. But then, I am partial to dresses that have the shape of that one. I think it makes your waist and hips look smaller.
