walking is good for the pain, and good for you too! will help boost your metabolism. in a day or two you will start feeling hungry again. and, soon (before you start getting fills), VERY hungry. be prepared. once you start getting fills, then you can concentrate on weight loss. until then, concentrate on your healing! will get better every day!

yes it is funny to have them tell you stop losing! But, i would think if they have a documented weight already it would be okay to start losing. when i was going through all the waiting stage, i went on some eating binges, so i gained, THEN lost when i went on the liquid diet pre-surgery. Savedbygrace -- no more gas pains? mine lasted almost three weeks! Glad to hear you are doing so well! The having to make yourself drink after surgery is normal. i remember being so NOT hungry the first few days after surgery! Glad to hear from you.

Hey Roxie, I'm with ya - was down 3 pounds this morning myself! Now I'm not sure if it will stay that way, because I always seem to have some fluctuation when I do go down some, but once it starts, it usually will stay that way! so I'm claiming it! Denise, we will miss you here. You've been a great encouragement and inspiration. But, SO GLAD YOU REACHED YOUR GOAL. You give all of us HOPE!

Hey Wombat, I've been attending my church for 17 years. Our Pastor died last feb., and they appointed his wife as our Pastor now. He was a really Godly man, and gave very good practical advice. One of the best tidbits of advice I heard him give was, when you are feeling down, go to a children's hospital, or find someone worse off than you, and start calling or ministering to them. It will take your mind off your own problems, and show you how you can help others. Even if you feel down and depressed, we still are blessed with many blessings. He also advised writing down your blessings. And, Anne31, LET US KNOW HOW THINGS GO! I will be praying for BOTH of you.

I do NOT agree with that doctor. I have read TOO many posts from people who say differently. And, Luvinke - I too think it might be some swelling. If it were me, I would try it out a while to see how things go. You might do okay with the restriction. Try cutting up your food in very small portions and see if you still get the sliming and PB'ing. If I cut up my bites, I don't have a problem. If I don't, I bite in too big of bites and it all gets stuck.

    Hey Jennie, I agree COMPLETELY!

    Anyone from Georgia ??

I've eaten pita bread with no problems. I don't feel with me its the type of food I'm eating, it is the size of the bites. When I cut up my food, I have no problems. If I bite and try to bite small bites, I find that my bites are not as small as my mind tells me they are. I've had steak twice since my surgery, I cut up my meat both times and had NO problems with food getting stuck. I eat chicken, and it gets stuck. but, I didn't cut up my bites. That is the key for me. If I cut it up, no stuck food, no sliming, no PB'ing. If I don't cut it up, there is a 50/50 chance.

another thing I have heard that if you eat 5 small meals a day instead of 2 or 3 it will boost your metabolism ...

    Slow Losers Unite!

Yes, can be confusing. It also goes to show how different each person is and how we can't be grouped into a single category just because we've been banded!

Hey Roxie, I have never seen Dr. Lin, and don't remember a Dr. White. So far, Dr. Davis has done all of my fills. I go in next week for another. You know, I hear you and Elaine feeling bad about not losing more, and at times I do too, but then I remember HEY, I HAVE LOST WEIGHT! Not to gain is such a good thing! And, my clothes are fitting better and I CAN tell a difference, even if it is a slow one. I too struggle with the exercise issue. And, its not so much that my body won't tolerate it, its a mental thing of just making myself DO IT! We are all in this together, and it is a journey, not a short trek through the woods. WE WILL MAKE IT! THINK POSITIVE!

you know, 2bemeagain, you will look back at this time at some point and wonder why it was so hard. God does not bring you to something that He won't bring you THROUGH! Glad to hear such an uplifting and encouraging post. I'm sure (no, I KNOW from my own feelings) you are not the only one to feel a little jealousy or anticipation about wanting to be farther along in the process. VERY encouraging post.

i didn't get restriction until my third fill. A lot of it depends on what type of band you have and how aggressive your doctor is with fill amounts. I will be praying for you! Didn't know they would stop sending you notices if you didn't join a forum! I have gotten email notices saying I had to go to the website and look at the latest posts, but it never told me I had to post something. Not sure what is going on there, but GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU!
  24. to never and manatee, I WOULD TAKE A SECOND LOOK! I think you both look very nice.
