    Someone explain the logistics, PLEASE!

hi lovebugg, may be you can ask your doctor about it. i just had my first fill this monday and was told to come back in a month to see if i'd need another one. i suppose that's ok to do. another regular on this site, la madam gave me this link...maybe it can help.... http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm

    Need to Vent

dont' get discouraged. everyone is different and loses weight at diff pace and diff people had different reactions to the surgery. in my case, i lost lots of weight in my first three weeks because i had severe mouth ulcers as reaction to the antibiotics. it was so painful, i could not even swallow my saliva without crying. i hardly drank anything but Water and honey because everything else is way too painful. Personally, i'd rather lose less weight and not suffering the ulcers for two weeks straight. I think you are doing great. you're committed to exercises and all. just stop weighing yourself so much i suppose. make a list of nsv's...... good luck and i hope you're feeling better!

    Omg- It Really Works:0)

I wish I have a problem of not getting enough calories. I had my first fill Monday and I never feel full..well hardly. Two days following my fill, I had liquid only and I was able to drink up about 1,200 - i gulp down my drink sometimes when i forget (i guess bad habit is hard to kill) and half of what i drink is already crystal light and Water. The following two days..i am on mushies...and i don't feel full....at all. I guess this means I don't have enough restrictions right? Not enough fill? Or do I need to wait and see until I am eating solids???? Any advise??? may be I have already stretched my stomach? Because two weeks before my first fill (4 wks after my surgery) I ate some solids already although I don't feel pain...maybe I overate without knowing it??? Anyone has any tips on how to help change eating habits? he.he.. the band is good but sometimes the mind is not always mindful that it's there....

Hi loulou, i am in singapore..so not too far away from you..but ya, feel so far away from the others.....*sigh* it gets lonely. he.he..and we can't get all the great sugar free food and the protein bars like the others in the states.....
  10. Mae, Thank you so much for your tips. I just had my op six wks ago..and for last two weeks was going crazy. Eating everything in sight..but I think I know why. I'm drinking too much hot choc! Too much sugar intake...Thanks so much for the recipes also..this is one of the most informative threads I have seen! Congrats on ur progress...

    Restriction Question

la madam, thanks for the link. very helpful. i am so glad i found the site and it's great to be able to read and learn what everyone else is going through. if only i found this site six weeks ago before my op...i was suffering alone! i had an awful mouth ulcers for 2 weeks following my op and a week of gas pains....was suffering a lot...tho, i lost much more weight that i was supposed to - cos it was just painful to swallow anything..... but this is still great............better late than never!

    Restriction Question

thanks for the tip....just had my first fill..so am bk to liquid for a few days to settle my stomach first.....guess i better consult w the nutritionist and my dr. do you ever feel the need to increase ur fill whenever you feel you have zero restrictions? do drs really stick to the every 2 month fill timing?
  13. esmeralda, congrats and good luck. keep us updated on how you're doing...will you be having some of your fill taken out?

    Is There Something Wrong Here????

Hi Jennifer, I had my surgery 2 wks earlier than you and i know what you are going through. i went thru that in the last 2 weeks. my dr told me it's normal, hunger pang is supposed to return! just be strong...if you do need to take solids..just chk w ur doctor...remember also: chew small and slow and don't overeat...u want to avoid vomiting. i believe it's the vomiting part that is bad - cos it may affect the band placement. i did take solid foods during time dr told me to eat blended foods only...but i tried to choose softer (and ask things to be overcooked) stuffs like risotto, if i am craving for toasts..i dip into hot choc. things like that. hope this helps...i did feel pain after my first time taking solids...so just be careful and talk to ur doctor...hope this helps... pam

    Please--need Kick In The #@*!!!

so relieved to see this seems to phenomenon many of us go through! i just had first fill today and am glad for it (surgery early jul)... because last two weeks was madness for me. was eating all solid food i can lay my hands on! ate kfc twice, risotto w foie gras.....was stressing out but could not stop myself...fortunately, scale in my favor - cos i realized tho i felt like i was binging, i still ate much less than i used to before surgery.......so i am glad to see veterans like you...going through the same thing....and are still going strong to meet ur goals....
