December 29, 2014 sleevers
cutee1985 replied to Mrs. Vee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey guys! I am done with work today as well! I also got my drain out and it still feels a little weird. Definitely felt sore around my stomach. I didn't drink as much as I should have either ????. I just started protein shakes today and man... Those things are thick!!! I keep feeling it get stuck in my throat! Not really a good feeling! Worried about fitting my work clothes tomorrow. When I left (before surgery) everything was really tight! Hopefully my clothes will not irritate my stomach ???? -

I'm going back to work tomorrow too...I will be 7 days post op tomorrow. I have had a drain since my surgery and will get it out just before I go to work. I'm hoping I won't be in too much pain ???? -
I'm the same with my liquids! But each day I try to do a little more... Yesterday my goal was 30oz and I got to 33, so today I'm going to shoot for 40! I also found that it's easier to swallow when you are walking.

When I went for a consultation I wanted the lap band; however, I was told this: Lap band is for weight loss over a longer period of time. There are many food restrictions and some people have ended up in the hospital because they had a piece of bread and it got stuck. It is also adjustable depending on how much weight you want to lose. Gastric sleeve: you still have a stomach, just a smaller one. You can still eat whatever except white bread, beer, and soda...might be something else but I can't remember. ( I only focused on what I eat/drink) This just says that there aren't many restrictions. However, your stomach can stretch out which will increase your hunger... So u have to be careful. Weight loss comes within the first year. And with bypass, mostly only really big people get that. (No offense... I'm big too otherwise I wouldn't be on here) I chose the sleeve.

cutee1985, At home I put away most of our plates and cups and replaced them with baby plates and 4 oz cups so that I won't waste food. The only thing I do use a larger container is for my Water. Thanks! I am going to try using smaller stuff. I saw some appetizer plates in Walmart, so I will get those when I can eat.

29 year old ladies - skin bounce back?
cutee1985 replied to Sassafrassa's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I started using skin firming lotion. I always lotion my body as soon as I get out of the shower so it wasn't a big deal. I'm hoping by using that my skin will be able to catch up to my weight loss -

I'm on day 3 post op. Gas is more controlled. I still am having issues swallowing, but I found if I walk and drink it's better to swallow. I took a shower this morning and it felt great; except the stinging from my belly button ????. Actually, the only real pain I have is in my belly button and from my drain. I know this is tmi, but it really made me happy! I had a bm today! Haven't had one since the 1st day of the liquid diet. I am used to having at least one a day...those 4 days really scared me! On a not disgusting note, I also realize I have to remember I can't eat/drink like I used to. My appetite is coming back and I used to be a big drinker. I just poured myself a huge tumbler of apple juice and as soon as I did, I remembered... I can't drink all of this! I guess I will have many moments like that in the beginning ????

Hi ladies! Happy NYE! I'm grateful to have found this thread also! I was just sleeved on Monday... Unfortunately I have to return to work exactly 1week after surgery ????. I hope everything will be ok and I won't stress myself to much! I'm a teacher so I constantly have to walk around and I can sip all day. Like others... The day of surgery (afterwards) and yesterday were horrible! It seems like every time I drank something it would get stuck in my throat... Still feels that way. I'm still sore on my stomach ( every time I try to get up I have to hunch over and walk out the pain) Does swallowing get easier? Also, when can I go to the gym to workout? -
Going back to work, what do I say?

Thanks krisrpass! I'm still worried about my walking. Whenever I start walking, I'm hunched over... I guess I can tell everyone I worked out too much! -

Going back to work, what do I say?
cutee1985 replied to tfarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone! I was sleeved this Monday and am a bit upset that I cannot get my drain out until this following Monday. This means I have to see some of my family and explain why this circle thing with blood in it is hanging from my stomach. I chose mot to tell anyone about my WLS just because I've had that discussion with them and they just said I needed to watch what I eat. I really don't know how to bring it up; even though I'm sure someone else will bring it up when they see me walking really slow. I guess my question is should I just tell the truth or create another lie, or even just hide my drain until I get it out? -
