5 years post op & I’m scared
Justoperated replied to RoseGoldHeart's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am five years post op too. I took vitamins only for first year. I have checked my levels every 6 months or so and they are normal. I do take vitamins but not regularly. Haven’t had gallstones but I guess it because I did not loose that much. -
I am 5 years out now, the first few weeks it was explosive diarrhea and then constipation that lasted for year or so but went away after that. For me, the issue was after the period of diarrhea when I really had to hold myself, I developed high sphincter tone and was unable to relax. Had to constantly take laxatives to keep a soft consistency. Over passage of time, tone returned to normal and have no issues now.

It’s been a little more than 5 years that I had sleeve. I started at 225 lbs and went to a minimum of 145lbs. Then had some weight gain and peaked around 163lbs at 2 years mark. Since then I have been vigilant and last three years been 155Lbs with a couple of pounds variation.

Gastric sleeve and lupus
Justoperated replied to brooksbrittanyanne's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Flares will be treated more or less the same way. Just make sure you are in remission at time of surgery. Some people claim that surgery can “unmask” Lupus and hence might flare Lupus, but, such instances are so rare that IMO that’s just a chance. Needless to say that you will keep your Rheumatologist on board. -
My mother said she no longer wants to talk or see me anymore.

Help! Did you have surgery at 200lbs?
Justoperated replied to Michelle.'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am 5,7 and surgeryy 220lbs. I do have a lot of excess skin as you can see in first pic, but when i am standing, it does not seem that much (second pic). -
Stupid things people say when they find out you've had surgery....
Justoperated replied to Awjones28's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
" You were not big enough to need surgery" "Dont loose too much" "How much can you eat now" "Do you feel weak" "You look old" And the most annoying "I liked the way you looked before surgery" -
I now do not recognise the person in my old photos.
-
Yesterday I forgot to bring my lunch to work, thought I would skip it, but felt too hungry and ate a muffin for the first time after surgery, after 1-2 hours started to feel dizzy and shaky. Wonder if it is dumping, I did not have any symptoms before, though this is the first time I ate something that full of sugar.

Bump I am still loosing, though I can and am eating a lot more than first three months. It kind of makes me worried both ways, fear of gaining weight and of keep lossing. -
I now see wrinkles and folds on my face. I am happy nonetheless for being fit and feeling younger, even if does not show on my face. Botox and fillers are not my thing.
-
congrats

I have stopped counting carbs, and I dont try to limit, I do try to take my Protein and veggie qouta. Still not eating bread or rice, my carbs come from fruits and sugar.
-
This is the best so far, I did 15 pull ups today in the park.

Cant believe the person I see in the mirror is me. My chest now measures 7 inch more than my waist and even size 32 jeans is loose.

11 months, 90 lbs! (Pics)

Congratulations you look amazing. -
This is the only problem I have 6 months post-op and its mostly because I don't take appropriate measures, when I do, there is no problem. Take laxatives regularly, most work with me, you have to see what works best for you. The more you leave it, the worse it will get.

I am almost at goal weight, though I feel, few lbs left are just skin, and I am where I should be. Though I expected the excess skin, it still makes me kinda sad. This is at my back, there is more on my stomach.

@@JamieLogical @@Shustar Thanks, so I guess I will take a surgeons opinion in 6 months.
-
@@JamieLogical @@livvsmum I feel I don't need muscle repair, I already have pretty good definition and can feel rock solid abs and even the fibres. Even while standing there does not seem to be like I have much skin hanging around, its only when I bend that it becomes obvious how much I am carrying around. But I guess a surgeon will know better whether it will benefit me or not. The pic below is about 2 month old and I have lost 8-9 lbs since then.

That's quite a lot. Did you have only skin removal or muscle suturing as well? If its only skin removal does that reuce recovery and activity time?
-
Thanks for sharing your experience, how was the recovery? Longer than sleeve?
