    Artificial sugar vs real sugar

I have started taking real sugar in my tea, about 5 cups daily. But then I hardly take carbs in any other form.
  2. From what I have read, water is the same whether inside our cells or in tummy or bottle.
  3. I didn't really understand how 1 bottle can give you hydration of 64oz, unless it just keeps the Water in the body and doesn't let it go out, which I think is not healthy either. Water is supposed to come out with pee and take with it the waste products.

    I didn't order pancakes.

A pizza hanging below the belly button.

    Hair Loss...it's kind of unsettling

I was already balding prior to surgery and it so far Biotin, Proteins, zinc, oils, nothing has helped! Currently this is my greatest frustration. Even the texture of my remaining hair is worsening.
  6. First 2-3 weeks after surgery my sleep was not refreshing, had lot of nightmares and dreams. It has improved a lot since then. I was never tested for sleep apnea, though I used to snore. Snoring is gone and I feel a lot less sleepy after lunch at work. I used to be really sleepy by 2-3 pm but not any more. I am able to get up in morning without any alarm. I guess I probably has some degree of sleep apnea which is gone now OR is it just weight loss that makes us more alert?

    Bread and Biscuits post op

I do appreciate your point now, reading that 100g of chicken has only 25-30 G protein and 219 calories, one needs 300Grams of chicken daily to reach 70-90 gram protein goal and that much chicken will give 660 Calories.
  8. I had GERD pre-op and took PPI regularly, post-op I still do. It has not gotten any worse. Rather now I don't get heart burn, rather funny tummy feeling that tells me I havent taken my dose today.

    Liquid Intake?

You are lucky, I have so much restriction with liquids even 2 months post-op.

    Skin Folds

I carried most weight around my sides and belly, and thats where I expected to get skin folds. But so far, there aren't any significant skin folds. Skin is where it used to be. Now my butts were small for an obese person but strangely enough I notice two folds hanging below my butt !

I will certainly try it, since I can take hot beverages but cannot drink water.

    Bread and Biscuits post op

I am certainly no expert in nutrition, so won't insist on anything I say. But i have generally found that carbs give me energy and that most of nutrition advice that I read b4 surgery recommended complex carbs as major portion, followed by Proteins and healthy fats.

    Weight Training

I hit the gym 6 weeks after surgery. I am lifting about half of what I used to do pre-op and doing only 30 minutes. Yet by the end I feel a bit dizzy and weak. I can't drink much during weight training, feel full, though I can take more while walking. Any suggestions sleevers.

Only wish I'd done it sooner!

Its great to have a partner in this journey. While I struggled with weight most of my life, my wife has always been slim. She loves to cook and enjoys her delicious meals. She eats her ice creams and cakes and would skip the next meal to make up for it.

What activities are you looking forward to doing?

Some of the things have already happened, like being able to fit in regular clothes instead of plus size, cross my legs, not worrying about over eating etc. Being satisfied with rate I am losing weight, I am currently looking forward to being able to drink liberally and not have to sip sip sip. I have started real cardio still for fear of getting dehydrated. I am peeing less than I use to before surgery.

    Bread and Biscuits post op

I don't think bread is "empty" calories. Carbs have always been an important part of human food since ages, its just plain sugars that are bad. I think there is excessive emphasis on Proteins, forgetting about healthy carbs and fats. I went on high Protein and low carb diet few years ago, lost a lot of weight, but gained it back equally quickly. On reading about a bit, I found high protein diet without much Carbs makes you pee more, and one loses more Water weight than lean weight. Also it generates more acid in the body, which weakens the bones and reduces body Calcium.

    Need practical advice (long)

Agree with the post above. You dont have to jeopardize your recovery by taking puree early. Even if you cannot get much Protein in first 2-3 weeks, I doubt its going to have any significant impact on eventual weight loss. The most important thing at this time is to keep hydrated and let the sleeve heal. You can always catch up once you are on puree.

    Hardest thing I ever did.

I had thought of talking to my family, but eventually didn't.

    December sleevers

Sleeved 14 Dec and down more than 40 lbs, for last 2-3 weeks loss is slow, like a 1-2lbs a week but I am fine with it. Feeling well and mind has drifted away from sleeve & weight loss to work, so I am at times missing Multivitamins or laxatives. Haven't counted Proteins in days but I guess I am not far off Protein target. Started to take tea and tolerating it well. Couple of days ago ate fish at a chinese place and forgot to chew it well, got stuk in lower esophagus and was nauseated for half an hour. Other than that no major issues.
